>>Please tell me how this process of adoption works.<<

Galatians 3:26 - For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:14-19 - For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

Thanks. Also I neglected one other Catholic practice I disagree with: While the Bible does state you must confess your sins, I have never found any requirement that you must confess only to a priest.

The Bible is very clear on this - it's a good exercise to find the applicable verses.

That is, those that answer the question: "whom should we confess our sins to ?"

After all...

If a Church teaching contradicts the Bible's teaching, the Church teaching is wrong.

And if a Church teaching adds to a Biblical teaching on matters that are not adiaphora, it contradicts the Bible.

The ultimate sure way to go for believing Christians is to a) understand the Bible and b) live according to it.

If you believe that your obligations end with “I believe”, then you fail to recognize that “belief” means living that faith.

Or you could just believe the bible and what the Lord says in John 6:28

Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?” 29 Jesus answered and said to them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.”

1) Jesus is the son of God.

I am Catholic too, I would like to expound on that.

Jesus Christ is the son of God. Jesus is also God himself.

Lots of preaching is nothing more than FLESH trying to beat down and subdue other FLESH.

John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

I think it is possible to be both a Catholic and a Bible believing Christian.
Of course! It is ignorant protestants who have made a distinction, not us. What are the authorities of the Church? The Deposit of Faith (big "T" Tradition), Scripture, and the Magisterial teaching through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Without the Bible, there is no Church. Without the Church, we would not have the Canon of Scripture. We are Bible-believing people.

No actually Trent FORBIDS you from owning or reading a bible

To be Roman Catholic IS to follow Christ and no other.

The Roman church has a false christ

Salvation is free and easy...

Tell that to the martyrs...

Being a "martyr" saves no one ...One is a marytr for something one believes.. not because one is saved

Here's another good one for your list: John 3. In the opening narrative of John 3, Jesus tells Nicodemus how man is to be born again... of water and Spirit. Following this discussion, Jesus immediately goes to baptize. Your Scripture quotes are correct but incomplete. They are proof quotes, not full thoughts. Faith leads to action in the Spirit of God to come to Baptism to be joined to God's Family in the New Covenant. Baptism in the name of God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is the process by which one is "adopted" into the Family of God. It is the beginning of life in Christ from which all else is possible. It is also the Sacrament of Initiation in the Church.

Proof quotes can only take you so far. Don't forget that the Devil and his demons know who Christ is... they believe He is the Son of God. What they don't do is take that knowledge of belief into action in service of God. Belief is an action word, it is not a mere knowledge of identity. Belief without action is dead. We follow Christ in what He has commanded us to do as His followers... prayer, fasting, almsgiving and the Eucharist. These are the things that Christ commanded in Scripture. You will find they are also the things the Apostles delivered to the Churches (1 Cor 11).

Please re-read thoughtfully what Jesus of Nazareth said to Nicodemus in John 3. Just take Jesus at His Word and don’t add accrued religious teachings to It. Thanks, R2z

One word Protestants don't understand: Arianism

That's the religion most Europeans might have been practicing if there hadn't been a strong, centralized church holding the fort for Christianity.

Take away dat ole' debbil the Catholic "whore of babylon" Church and you have small groups of committed, "bible"-believing, on-fire-for-the-Lord congregations that generate hundreds or thousands of different "scriptures" and are snuffed out one-by-one by hoards of arians, monophysites, nestorians, pelagians, etc.

>>Baptism in the name of God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) is the process by which one is "adopted" into the Family of God.<<

NO, it is not. Baptism is an outward sign of having been buried with Christ.

>>It is the beginning of life in Christ from which all else is possible.<<

False once again. It's faith in Christ that is the beginning.

>>It is also the Sacrament of Initiation in the Church.<<

Absolute nonsense. There is no scripture to substantiate that.

>>Don't forget that the Devil and his demons know who Christ is... they believe He is the Son of God.<<

Once again, total corruption of what scripture says trying to mislead. The demons know that there is one God. Believers believe on Jesus Christ.

The Catholic belief system is a total corruption of the word of God with added pagan beliefs and practices. Just like you attempt to use the demons know that comment. It's corrupting the words of scripture and not to be trusted.

That's the religion most Europeans might have been practicing if there hadn't been a strong, centralized church holding the fort for Christianity.

That's one scenario that didn't happen. There may be others that did not happen either. "Might" is a very large word in your quoted fiction.

(BTW, you've learned incorrectly about the Church that The Lord Jesus Christ founded on Himself...and about the degree of danger Arianism posed to that Church, not to be confused with the Roman Catholic church.)

G. K. Chesterton, eh?
