And so the effort to grease the skids in preparation for what promises to be the upcoming Synods assault on Catholic doctrine in the name of pastoral solutions has been ratcheted up a notch:
Specifically, Pope Francis recent announcement of an extraordinary Jubilee under the title the Holy Year of Mercy.

Jesuits being Jesuits.
“Be a sinner, and sin boldly...”, Martin Luther.
Nice out of context, the 'dots' that follow:
but believe and rejoice in Christ even more boldly, for he is victorious over sin, death, and the world. As long as we are here [in this world] we have to sin. This life is not the dwelling place of righteousness, but, as Peter says, we look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. It is enough that by the riches of Gods glory we have come to know the Lamb that takes away the sin of the world.
Do you go to Confession? If not, I’m not interested in yours or the heretic Luther’s defense of “be a sinner, and sin boldly”.
That's fine with me, honesty required the context. It's Lent, and I know that Catholics frequently use Luther quotes out of context, since the context doesn't serve them. That's ok.
To “sin boldly” is all you need to know of Luther’s twisted state of mind.
Do you sin boldly?
xone, has a point. Correctly quoting someone is a must. Having said that, the words about sinning boldly still makes Luther look like a fool no matter what follows that part of the quote.
I think the Holy Year of Mercy is a great idea in itself.
Why so? Are you looking to ditch your wife and "marry" another?
“Why so?”
Because I’m a Catholic. Mercy is an essential part of Christian belief. “God has consigned all men to disobedience, that he may have mercy upon all” (Rom 11:32).
“Are you looking to ditch your wife and “marry” another?”
No. Are you looking to ditch your husband and “marry” another?
So is Pelosi.
How'd you like Francis' latest showboating act of "mercy"? This past Thursday, he asked for all the world's Catholic Churches to hold 24-hour confessions the following Friday and Saturday. How's that for the late notice, an impossible request, but a great PR stunt? Just like his so-called "Year of Mercy".
“So is Pelosi.”
So you’re saying that you and Pelosi are the same? After all, you just said she is Catholic and you claim you are too do you not?
“How’d you like Francis’ latest showboating act of “mercy”? This past Thursday, he asked for all the world’s Catholic Churches to hold 24-hour confessions the following Friday and Saturday.”
I think that’s a great idea. Especially if there was simultaneous adoration going on in the sanctuary for that 24 hours as well.
“How’s that for the late notice,”
It is late notice.
“an impossible request,”
Not at some parishes. If a parish has several priests, it can be done.
“but a great PR stunt?”
What proof do you have that that is what it was?
“Just like his so-called “Year of Mercy”.”
And, again, are you looking to ditch your husband and marry another?
By the way, apparently there was a bit more notice than you thought:
“Asked how the faithful around the world can best become involved, the pontifical councils president, Archbishop Rino Fisichella, told the National Catholic Register last month that the success of the event depends on how much “we priests are convinced about the good of the initiative because to open churches for such a period of time is a challenge everywhere.
See that? LAST MONTH. I guess the word just didn’t get out very well. http://www.aleteia.org/en/religion/article/pope-francis-opens-worldwide-day-of-confession-this-friday-5907801742245888
All good and well. But did your Church have 24-hour confessions and Adorations this weekend? My Novus Ordo church sure didn't.
Like I said, it was a last minute PR stunt that was impossible to fulfill.
As far as Pelosi, I think she's more like you and Francis with all the "mercy" babbletalk.
Why are you interested in me?
Irish diocese are doing it - and it was apparently introduced in 2014 already: http://www.catholicireland.net/24-hours-lord/
Article about it from 2/27/15: http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/this-lent-the-pope-has-a-message-for-lapsed-catholics-its-never-too-late-35891/
Article from March 28, 2014!!! http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/churches-answer-popes-call-for-24-hours-of-confession/
As I said, “All good and well”. But did you honestly know about before this past Thursday? Did you church pastor know?
If not, why not? The whole damn world new about the “Year of Mercy” as soon as the Pope opened his mouth.
“All good and well. But did your Church have 24-hour confessions and Adorations this weekend?”
Not that I know of, but my parish has a priest in the confessional hearing confessions for at least 16 hours each week so it wouldn’t really be as big a deal anyway.
“My Novus Ordo church sure didn’t.”
Do they even know about it?
“Like I said, it was a last minute PR stunt that was impossible to fulfill.”
Except there are parishes doing it - as I showed.
“As far as Pelosi, I think she’s more like you and Francis with all the “mercy” babbletalk.”
Babbletalk? So St. Paul’s letter to the Romans is babbletalk? Jesus’ Eight Beatitudes is babbletalk?
“Why are you interested in me?”
Why were you so interested in me? Didn’t you write this: Are you looking to ditch your wife and marry another?
Are you the kettle or the pot then?
St. Paul never condoned adultery, nor polygamy nor the “goodness” in homosexual unions.
