Cardinal hits young traditionalists who want to ‘be clear in their positions...

"Cardinal hits young traditionalists who want to ‘be clear in their positions’: calls it ‘the beginning of terrorism’"

One of Pope Francis’ closest advisors, and the leader of one of the most “liberal” Catholic hierarchies in the world, has denounced “traditional” young people for wanting “to be clear in their positions,” warning that it is a path to “terrorism.” In a related interview with the Jesuit magazine America, Cardinal Reinhard Marx, the head of the German Bishops’ conference, applauded people in homosexual partnerships who want a “lifelong” relationship.

“I am astonished that most of our young people, and also Catholic homosexuals who are practicing, want a relationship that lasts forever,” Marx told America. “We must begin with the main points of the doctrine, to see the dream: the dream is to have a person say, a man and woman say, ‘You and you, forever. You and you, forever.’ And we as church say, ‘Yes, that’s absolutely OK. Your vision is right!’

“So we find the way. Then perhaps there is failure. They find the person, and it is not a great success. But life-long fidelity is right and good.”

He added, “The church says that a gay relationship is not on the same level as a relationship between a man and a woman. That is clear. But when they are faithful, when they are engaged for the poor, when they are working, it is not possible to say, ‘Everything you do, because you are a homosexual, is negative.’”

When popes, bishops priests teach in contradition to Scripture or traditional Catholic teaching, one can find authoritative teaching in the teachings of the Magesterium. The Majesterium is the non-contradictory teachings of the bishops throughout the world or gathered in an Ecumenical Council ratified by the Pope.

Divorce and re-marriage is adultery. The Church fought that battle with Henry VIII.

Just one more POS Catholic Cardinal. To quote the late Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen:

“WHO IS GOING TO SAVE OUR CHURCH? NOT OUR BISHOPS, NOT OUR PRIESTS AND RELIGIOUS. IT IS UP TO THE PEOPLE. YOU HAVE THE MINDS, THE EYES, THE EARS TO SAVE THE CHURCH. YOUR MISSION IS TO SEE THAT YOUR PRIESTS ACT LIKE PRIESTS, YOUR BISHOPS, LIKE BISHOPS, AND YOUR RELIGIOUS ACT LIKE RELIGIOUS.”

Strawman.

I have never heard ANYONE say “Everything you do, because you are a homosexual, is negative.”

Not once. And I know a lot of conservative Catholics.

The scripture comes from the Church. Lose no sleep over so-called “papal infallibility,” as the conditions for it are extremely rare, and encompass the Magisterial headship of Jesus Christ and all scriptural teachings. If a pope contradicts these, it's not infallible.

You don't say!!!! Partial infallibility right? I'm only infallible when I say I'm infallible kind of things?

Infallibility describes papal proclamations regarding faith and morals ‘ex cathedra’, meaning officially from the Chair of the Bishop of Rome, i.e. the Pope of the RC church.

While this is upsetting and certainly not true Christian doctrine, the quotation of Bishop Fulton Sheen is still pertinent.

“The atmosphere of reducing the complexity of the world, to give simple answers, to give black and white answers, is growing, and I think that is very dangerous,” the cardinal said.

Modernists love the gray. Pre-Vatican II Church was not gray. Post Vatican II church is gray and getting more and more gray.

Amen.

The Roman Church has been in a state of crisis for going on a half century. I think things are reaching a critical stage with this new pope.

And it is not that all surprising that the world is as well. Satin has his chess pieces (pawns and useful idiots) in place, God is now starting to maneuver His followers(few as they may be at the moment). Events are going to turn ugly and will do so at light speed once the veneer completely falls off. It will be a great time for making martyrs, and a terrible era to live in for those who won’t live like one.

So when the Bishops, Cardinals and Pope teach things that are directly in contradiction to scripture, who does a Catholic listen to?

We listen to Jesus Christ, the Originator of the Deposit of Faith and Morals.

"O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding the profane novelties of words, and oppositions of knowledge falsely so called."

----------------------------------

13. For the doctrine of the faith which God has revealed is put forward not as some philosophical discovery capable of being perfected by human intelligence, but as a divine deposit committed to the spouse of Christ to be faithfully protected and infallibly promulgated.

14. Hence, too, that meaning of the sacred dogmas is ever to be maintained which has once been declared by Holy mother Church, and there must never be any abandonment of this sense under the pretext or in the name of a more profound understanding.

May understanding, knowledge and wisdom increase as ages and centuries roll along, and greatly and vigorously flourish, in each and all, in the individual and the whole Church: but this only in its own proper kind, that is to say, in the same doctrine, the same sense, and the same understanding [36].

“Pauls letter to the Romans probably wasn’t been read in catholic church for decades, if at all.”

Dude, you are so wrong.

Go to this link and scroll down to Romans (Rom) for Masses on Sundays and special feasts: http://catholic-resources.org/Lectionary/Index-Sundays.htm

And then do the same for weekday Masses here: http://catholic-resources.org/Lectionary/Index-Weekdays.htm

These are the readings from Romans for the 3-year ABC cycles.

You’ve got to stop making these stupid, ignorant comments!

Is the Pope Catholic?

I'm beginning to wonder about this one.

I'm pretty sure Vatican II speaks of a more profound understanding or words to that effect.

Gumdrop has it. Got to be an official teaching on faith or morals; got to be in agreement with the totality of existing doctrine (hence agrees with the accepted Biblical truths); and finally, is normally delivered together with relevant authoritative bishops heading curial posts, rather than all by himself. So, for example a teaching on marriage that modifies or clarifies somewhat the current Church position about homosexual relationships would be cosigned by the members of the Congregation on the Family and probably members of other groups of Bishops who advise the Pope.
