1Cor 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.
The Apostle Paul knew that there is a fallen human tendency to reject the present and continuing ministry of the Crucified Christ. So much so, that it was the forefront of his thoughts. Paul not only knew the power of Christ’s resurrection, but also fellowshipped the suffering of Christ’s crucifixion in the present moment.
Yes, the work of redemption was finished at Calvary, but God’s Omnipresent nature makes the event of the crucifixion a present reality. And not only a reality but a present and continuing work.
Chapter and verse for that please?
What about the verses that state that Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father in heaven?
Don't they count for anything?
And notice the past tense “crucified” not “crucifying”.
Hebrews 10:12. It’s was once and for all (for all who wanted it).
“Yes, the work of redemption was finished at Calvary, but Gods Omnipresent nature makes the event of the crucifixion a present reality. And not only a reality but a present and continuing work.”
No. Paul does not see Christ as crucified today.
No. The crucifixion is not a present reality today.
No. The crucifixion is not a continuing work.
“But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God,and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool.”
Hebrews 10:12,13
Christ was sacrificed once for all...and then He sat down at the right hand of the father..HIS WORK COMPLETED
See because God was omniscient He knew who that sacrifice was for and marked their debt PAID IN FULL on Calvary
