Sad isn't it? The man looked to fallible men as his "founder" and "idol". The only thing he switched was who he put his faith in. He changed it from his "idol" John Calvin to his "idol" the "church".

That’s one reason many come to the Catholic Church which was founded by Jesus Christ, fully God and fully human.
