My story went in the other direction. Once Catholic, now Protestant.

Mine too—funny how that works.

Got kind of boring.
I don’t think conversion is the right term.
He uses it twice. He “converted” from Baptist to Presbyterian. And converted to Catholic.
He was Christian the whole time so I see no conversion, but rather a switch.

J.I. Packer recently wrote in Christianity Today (May 1989) that the contrast between the "zany wildness" of Protestantism and the "at-homeness" of CatholicismRecently wrote? In 1989? 26 years ago. Little more than this "zany" Protestant can take.

And why the misleading publication date? According to the link you gave, this article was published back in 1990, not today.

“the zany wildness of Protestantism versus the at-homeness of catholicism”
Isn’t this verbatim from the Book of Brian?
(Yeah, Catholicism is like down-home cooking ...)

Today the inflammatory rhetoric is largely gone HA. Author has apparently never visited FR.

If you are a baptized Catholic -— then you will always be a baptized Catholic. The make of Baptism does not leave your soul.
You can return at any time.

I was baptized as a baby, according to Catholic doctrines, I had no choice. As an adult I had a choice and opted for that choice when I accepted Christ as my personal savior and was baptized (as an adult) in a Protestant denomination.
As for returning to the Catholic church ... ain’t gon’a happen. I have spent the last 40 plus years as a Protestant and am perfectly happy in my decision.
I’m going to Heaven as a born again Christian who loves Jesus ... that’s all that needs to be said about me or my story.

Im sticking with non-denominationalism. Who needs popes, priests, pastors, preachers, etc. telling them what to believe when they can get Gods word direct and unadulterated from the Bible?
