The Catholic Church has celebrated the Sacraments ever since the days of Christ and the apostles.

You can believe what you wish, but don’t you know deep down from the scriptures cited that Sacraments did and do exist even today?

It's not so much weather the Bible mentions Baptism or the Lord's supper but their role in salvation. Does the Bible teach we must do anything accept God's grace in faith?

How could the thief on the cross be saved without the sacraments?

If the sacraments play a role in our be saved from sin, it is strange indeed that John writing to his church did not rest on thing beyond belief as assurance of salvation.

I John 5:10-13 "He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

It would be a travesty if God's Holy Spirit forgot to mention what beyond belief is required when recording the events of Acts 16. When the jailer in Phillip asked what he must do to be saved the Apostles forgot to tell him about the sacraments.

Acts 16:30-34 "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house."

There are many things a Christian should do; but we do good because we are saved, not to be saved. Titus 3:1-8 "Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work, To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men. For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men."
