Killing in response to insult, no matter how gross, must be unequivocally condemned. That is why what happened in Paris cannot be tolerated. But neither should we tolerate the kind of intolerance that provoked this violent reaction.

Believe as an adult in a child-like, 6th century religion and you are going to hear about it - especially if you use its tenets to justify hurting people who do not believe as you do.
Catholics and many other Christian religious leaders don't want to criticize Islam because they are far too afraid their own beliefs can't meet such grown-up standards. That's too bad. If men like Donohue can't even boldly make the case to the natterers that modern Catholic religious practices do not sanction the flying of jetliners into buildings, then they had better just shut up entirely.
How doss that work? Are you suggesting that Catholics need to get out more?
>>You don’t understand language...do you?<<
No, it is you who does now know English. One: “but, on the other hand” is a redundancy and should never be used in formal writing. Terrible grammar and unsurprising.
If you were to supply your redundancy in a sentence, it would negate all that preceded it.
English grammar and logic: learn it, know it, love it.
I think I've said that before.....
>>Your FR name fits you...<<
It doesn’t change your illiteracy. If you are going to be a grammar nazi, at least use proper grammar and be accurate.
As for my name, it there for those who have nothing but argumentation ad hoc. Thanks for making my point.
Point made.........
Today it is Charlie Hebdo, tomorrow it could very well be the Bible.
Paragraphs are your friends.
No. They want our country for islam.
They got enough countries for Islam.
Bill Donahue said that toward the end of the article. I hope everyone took the time to read the article in its entirety, rather than a simple excerpt.
Outrage over this action by Muslims, yet not one word about the Inquisition. No direct apology for this event. The watered down apology by JP II doesn't cut it either.
The Inquisition argument has nothing to do with Donohue. Again, go to the site and read! Check out what the League's purpose actually is, and who is on the board!
Shall Catholics then expect an apology from Queen Elizabeth, the present-day head of the Church of England, for Henry VIII Tudor? People were tortured and heads rolled then- all because he wanted a divorce. I, for one don't expect that.
We have saints in our Church whom the Inquisition persecuted, most notably St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross. Whom do we apologize to then?
No matter what is done it will never be enough to those who despise Catholicism.
Provoke THIS!!!
It has everything to do with it.
Catholicism needs to formally apologize for the Inquisition and other crimes committed at the direction of the popes.
That's for starters.
They don’t agree.
I'm retired military and retired law enforcement and I understand the enemy quite well. I also don't live in anyone's basement, I live in my own house.
The perpetually outraged can never be appeased.
That's for starters."
As I said before, for those who despise Catholicism, nothing will ever be enough.
The actual Roman Catholic Church has been more than willing to be honest about its past. Don’t confuse FR’s more-Catholic-than-the-Pope commentators for the Church.
