Speaking to a group of Christian clergy at the Easter Prayer Breakfast he hosted at the White House on Wednesday, President Barack Obama referred to Jesus Christ as a son of God.
Its an opportunity for us to reflect on the triumph of the resurrection, and to give thanks for the all-important gift of grace, Obama said of Easter, which is this Sunday. And for me, and Im sure for some of you, its also a chance to remember the tremendous sacrifice that led up to that day, and all that Christ endured--not just as a Son of God, but as a human being.

Carrying over disputes from other threads?
You attempting to defend?
I see. So then you won't have any issue with me pointing out the fact then in a previous thread you wouldn't condemn the use of abortifacient contraceptives. I believe your flaccid response was, "I think I've established my pro-life credentials."

Another of your poor attempts at deflecting the issue at hand.
Again, as the parent of a child with developmental issues, I stand by my pro-life credentials. If that's flaccid in your worldview....so be it.
I talk the talk and walk the walk.
So again I ask...you defending the proposition a catholic priest made regarding non-catholics killing their babies at Christmas??
What is the issue? Your response at #100 had nothing to do with Father's response at #32. So if anyone was deflecting the conversation it was you.

So you claim.
I talk the talk and walk the walk.
Do you now? Then why can't you reject the slaughter of babies through the use of contraceptives?
So again I ask...you defending the proposition a catholic priest made regarding non-catholics killing their babies at Christmas??
Non-Catholics are killing their babies year round. They just call it contraception. Something they have determined scripture is silent about. When they bother to look at it that far. Usually you don't get beyond the, "It's my marital bed and nobody will tell me what I can and cannot do there." The sin of pride and lust ever present. It's really no different than the pro-choice "It's my body" meme.
So we have another, "I've established my pro-life bona fides," I'll chalk that up along with the, "I haven't expressed an opinion on abortifacients" dodge I've received over the past few days from protestants.
Flaccid. Protestants are cowards.
So you claim.
I think it's best you and I not post any longer so that this remains civil.
Get back to me when Obama admits that he is an Antichrist.
This article is from 4/12 Easter, not that it really matters, we know what Obama is.
I was not taught that in Episcopal confirmation class. God and the son are distinct and separate entities.
As you wish. I think I've made my point. Maybe next time you'll think before you decide to bring issues over from another thread.
but to be clear.....I'll post from any thread I care to.
Mary of the Bible entirely uplifted God and knew she too needed a Savior. She never declared anything more than gratitude and love for God.
As mentioned, the catholic religion has always designed and implemented “add ons” to support and align their agenda and teachings in order to maintain the mass following they have...and the consistent revenue flows to Rome.
You're welcome to Freepmail if there is something you'd like to say to me in private.
That “Catholic construction” is why they’re “orthodox”.
I was making a point, although it was missed by a number of people. If people can say that Catholics worship Mary, then anybody ought to be allowed to say absolutely anything about anybody.
I have no problem if someone states ACCURATELY what Catholics believe, and then asks an honest question about it.
But it is despicable when people post claims that Catholics worship Mary. Every Catholic knows that worshiping anybody or anything other than God is idolatry. It is the primary meaning of the First Commandment, and it is explained as such in every Catholic catechism ever published.
The problem with Catholicism is that it has redefined worship to mean something else to justify the “veneration” of Mary. Too many examples of catholic writings on Mary, the claims that we can only come to Jesus through Mary, the statues, the prayers, the kneeling, the claims that Mary sits on the honest summit of Heaven, etc all say Catholics worship Mary.
Another lie. Absolutely, totally false.
As to the assertion that "veneration" is really "adoration": Well, if you are determined to believe that all those who make that distinction are liars, then you are free to do so. It makes you an anti-Catholic bigot, however.
I don't know, but isn't it amazing how many are competing for it?
