LOL I’m enjoying the vitriol with anyone who even invokes scripture to point out that Mary is NOT what they claim she is. It’s rather easy to see who they put first.
LOl! Not worried in least! Blessed Mother, Thank You!
Thank you for the wonderful Christmas & Advent wishes! I also wish you a (real) blessed Christmas.
As to opinions... one here is unnecessary.
Scripture is absent any mention anywhere of Mary being "everyone's mother." It is not there, so all you have left is speculation from those who want to believe it.
Such thin gruel that there isn't even water. That anyone could taste someone there is wishful thinking.
Bst
Your Loss! My gain! Hail Mary, Full of Grace.......
You are thanking a false front...
Why do they speak of “hail Mary” maneuvers in such a fashion? I’ve never heard them called “dear Jesus” maneuvers.
Whatever!
If you are truly interested, you will find out whatever.
God needs no woman to nudge Him to express what was in Him since eternity past. I know that kind of Jesus. I benefit from that kind of Jesus. Why tack any front onto Him? Why gild the Rose of Sharon?
Hey stick with your false religion. Ok with me. Don’t care. I know what I know. Good luck! Hey BTW! Merry Christmas, is NOT in the Bible! Holler!
“Your Loss! My gain! Hail Mary, Full of Grace.......”
You can’t gain or lose something that never existed... No matter how many times you recite prayers to someone who can’t hear you.
The evolution of the Christmas tree is interesting to follow. It may have been commandeered by the church from the use of “tree huggers” who almost certainly knew nothing of Tammuz. This is a valid move as long as bible theology of God does not get superseded (as it did with Mary). I find it difficult to understand how a Christmas tree weakens a valid Christian faith, because it only serves as symbolic decoration, not as object of devotion. Martin Luther had no problem with the Christmas tree... that should say a lot. The blessing is always stronger than the curse. Always.
False religion... imputing too much love to Jesus.
HO-KAY!
And I wish you a more Feliz Navidad than you have ever known before.
Interesting...
I know...Where did they get that??? To pray to Mary in Jesus' name???
Well, we really shouldn’t have schadenfreude. It’s sad that such a hail Mary move (pun literally intended) is considered necessary.
I got scoffed at a few posts ago by one of our dear Catholic friends about Christmas, something I didn’t even mention here. But there is even more Christmas in our Christmas than in Catholics’ Christmas, if I can say that. The “mas” suffix indeed comes from the “mass” form that Catholics have given to the Lord’s Supper, but it also comes from the Latin mittere, meaning to send. Well, when God sends Christ to us... we get Christmas. Neat how that works, or rather how He works.
I have no problem with Christmas trees either. I just keep it all in perspective. I did a short study on Diana, Artemis, Ashtoreth and other strange things. Eye opening. It is already 10:15 AM on Dec 24 here, but still Tuesday there. We will celebrate Christmas tomorrow, even though I seriously question the date of Jesus' birth. I just keep it in perspective. Uphold good, sound Biblical doctrine. Maligayang Pasko.
There are folks for whom “Christmas” really does seem to be about the trappings. I knew a guy like that, a frank unbeliever, who had a Christmas tree so big he had to cut it off to get it into his mansion’s two story atrium... he never measured the silly space.
At any rate when the devil comes calling, Jesus will send him on the run. Might be quick, might take some time, but He will.
And in a sense, every day should be a Christmas, every day should be an Easter. Neither of these were given by the Lord as ordinances and the matter falls within the realm of Christian freedom. They are voluntary symbols. But keeping the witness up “in season” (as well as out) has a value.
His doom is as sure as the day is long. I think you and I have talked about some deeper theological issues. All those in Hell might find some perverse pleasure in raging at God for all eternity. Eternity is a sobering idea to consider. It is too long a time to make a mistake on.
