I guess either explanation is possible, I believed that the Arabs came from the union between Ishmael and his Egyptian wife.

And that Mohamed was just a leader who thought of himself as a servant of God and most or all of the Islam religion was based on him but actually made up between two or three hundred years after his death.

It is obvious that he did not get close to Mecca which was not even there until 4th century ad.

So tell me, What happened to the other 1000 thousand or so humans alive in the Middle East Before Abraham even entered the promised lands?

Did they just die? Move? Vanish?

After all, all Middle easterners call themselves Arabs.

However there were thousands of towns and good sized cities before Abraham had Ishmael.
