The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not man’s standard.
No, you are obviously not all that familiar with these things which you criticize, while still failing to establish anything which would qualify as distinctively "Protestant" superstition.
If they are monumental theological constructs, they can hardly be at the same time -- superstitions, unless all theological constructs are superstitions --- which position or type of thinking is that of anti-theists of all stripe.
It would have been better, and more honest to have begun reply there -- with that, instead of burying that in the middle of your reply, then trying to have things both ways by taking it all back -- after having opened reply with scattershot put-downs.
Also, you are here wrong again, mis-characterizing what occurred. The poster did not commit a slip of the tongue as much as his comment (regardless of how right or wrong the comment was) was later taken out of context, the context itself manipulated (leaving out the mentions or brief allusion to doctrines) while having retained listing of isolated passages of scripture alone.
It was the re-packaging of the exchange which was a problem.
That's a whole different ball-game, in a sense, as I have explained. So no, you don't get to have things both ways.
There were two different issues there, but he was quoted in a highly edited manner. Or rather -- more precisely -- what he responded to was then edited, then his response displayed to that edited comment and then represented -- as if he was responding solely to that.
If he does not agree with the various doctrines in some way, that is not the same as having said --- what was it -- the scriptures themselves were false? --- for he did not say that, but was selectively quoted as if he did say that, more precisely.
And that stands regardless of whether or how much he was right or correct, or that you are, or are not as to doctrines concerning those passages -- if that be only to what degree, etc.
Stop being so slippery -- and you may find degree of agreement for some things, and what differences there may be, be better able to find more exacting definitions, the better to honestly compare concepts, one to another.
That could be more like an actual discussion of issues...for a change.

That is mistaken, in regards to the men whom I made mention of, for Calvin (or someone near to that man) was one of the first who wrote of "Real Presence" in capital letters, with Calvin writing of pneumatic or spiritual presence.
So as I said, (being that you not understand them) you have no real standing to criticize those persons who you do not fully enough understand.
They were not all of them Zwingli --- and in Calvin's instance at the least, he did very openly disagree with Zwingli as to this issue.
I have some 35 years as a United Methodist fully ordained pastor/elder, a good portion of which was served as a US Army Chaplain fully endorsed by the United Methdist Church. I am a graduate of one of Methodism’s most conservative seminaries, Asbury Seminary, at a time when it was arguably the most conservative of them all. (Incidentally, Asbury is NOT a United Methodist Seminary. It is independent, serving UMs, Free Methodists, Nazarenes, Wesleyans, Salvation Army, and a host of others at one point in their history related to Methodism.
So, I’m pretty sure I’m not a FRoman Catholic. :>)
Although, I am a huge believer in true Christian Unity based on Jesus’ prayer that we all be one. I see some huge strengths and positives in Roman Catholicism. I see some weaknesses. And I see some doctrinal things I disagree with.
We used it on our show goats so the swelling would not be apparent when showing them.
And also of course as a general rule when they needed it.
I used a rag and did not protect my hands but I don’t think it effected me adversely.

That is blaspheme and carries a very strong condemnation.
Yes, we know the story that is pushed by Catholics, but has been shown to be blasphemous hearsay many times here in the RF.

My mom, Bryson City. I spent my childhood summers there with grandpa and uncles. They would have preferred I stay Baptist rather than turn out Methodist, but I played football, hunted, fished, and played baseball, so I had the true religion. :>)

When I was stationed at Ft Campbell, my parents had retired back to Bryson City, so we would travel the Chattanooga, Cleveland, Ocoee, Murphy back route to Bryson City. Absolutely beautiful country.
You can express it in a general manner as an opinion.
Stating such an opinion as if it is a fact to a poster that it will happen to him/her is making it mindreading, which makes it personal.
