The reason for this article is to determine if the worship/veneration given to Mary by the catholic church is justified from a Biblical perspective. This will be evaluated using the Biblical standard and not mans standard.

Actually, people from all cultures worshiped a virgin goddess (Queen of Heaven) since the beginning of human history. Catholic Mary worship is merely a continuation of this. And therein is your blindness. people since the beginning of time have worshiped a male God symbol....Christianity is merely a continuation of this .....apparently which female you honor(not worship) and which male that you worship makes a great deal of difference...

Why did you stop in the middle of Paul’s delivery?
Is the message of chapter 12 too frightful?
Is it troubling to be compared with Esau?

TC...you do not listen.
I love the Lord's mother more than my own.
But Satan has a plan to divert the worship due the Lord. And he has used Mary to do this.
He - Satan - has been preparing for this forever.
Be careful not to fall into his trap.
It is not about our beloved Mary.
It is Satan's plan to distract worship from Jesus.

You're right; I should've cut and pasted the whole Book of Hebrews from KJV. Wonder what the M-d would have said...
Now, I'm off to Chapter 12 to see again what this frightful business is and about Esau.

Having it blessed costs nothing. Of course you are right. It also GAINS nothing. other than saying that you have something blessed by the Pope, you could be right......so?

there NEVER was a need for reformationBut there was a need and there always is a need in all human organizations and in all humans.
We need to reform to God.
We drift back into sin...and we need to reform...we need to repent and ask for forgiveness.
I am not that far from being a Catholic...but I am not a Catholic who like Muslims refuse to reform.
I am reforming!!!
Jesus is my goal (and yours)...let's stay focused on Him.
Let's reform to Jesus!
Much love from here...

Yes I can. As you stated the Hail Mary is a prayer. I keep hearing Roman Catholics do not pray to Mary. Yet there are prayers to her. we pray THROUGH HER ....holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death....sounds O.K. to me!

Hebrews 12 KJV
15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.
To me, this speaks of denying Christ, as some have done for worldly morsals and various pleasures and as we are admonished not to do in these last times....especially when no one will be allowed to buy or sell without bearing some sort of insignia.
Apparently, the day is coming when some who claim to be Christian but have not been born of the Spirit, will deny Christ so that they and/or family may have another meal.

TC, use Sister Wendy and see if that works.

Essentially the same message he brought in chapter 6, using Esau as an example.
Essentially that “backsliding” is permanent, so don’t fool around.

Hebrews addresses not those that deny, but those that were in the fold, enjoying the spiritual gifts and knowledge, but got sloppy and slipped off the path. Particularly chapter 6.

Irrelevant you say! Yet one of the very reasons the Catholic Church uses to justify their assumption of the assumption is that there is no evidence of her remains. no they don't

Everyone has his/her own experiences to relate. What He revealed to me, mainly through the Holy Bible but also with confirmation by the Holy Spirit, was different than what He revealed to you. Hard to figure sometimes, isn't it? no, He revealed it to me for 2,000 years, he revealed it to you when??

Yes indeed! And for some "backsliders" leading up to and perhaps including the coming Big T, their turning back from Christ may not give them very much longer to live anyway.
