If you brake this down (among other passages in the Bible), you’ll find that all we need is Jesus. It is The Holy Spirit that draws a person to Christ through the preaching of His Word. I don’t need a church- and frankly though sad... Many “churchgoers” do not know Christ.

See Mathew 25:31-46....our own actions mean a lot in our salvation!!

You know, in my own inept way, that was what I think I might have been trying to say. To me, this does not preclude belonging to a "religion." Or to any "church."

Many “churchgoers” do not know Christ.

...and quite a few do. Perhaps church membership ought to be inclusionary, rather than exclusionary.
