Authority.....it always comes back to authority."
A common, but errant, RCC conclusion. For example, if the pope said ex cathedra, "Jump off this ledge." What gives you the right to decide what he meant? If he says, "Well, I meant for you to go to the edge and leap off." What gives you the right to decide what "leap" means?
You RCs do this all the time. You claim we biblicists use YOPIOS, but you do, too. You listen to a remark made by your goofy organization, THEN you interpret it (personally, I might add) to mean, "Oh, I should genuflect, or say a paternoster, or eat this candle." Whatever...you interpret the command. And, you use ORDINARY HERMENEUTICS to interpret what you believe they are getting at.
We biblicists simply reach behind your faulty organization to an authority which predates them, and thus trumps them with truth...understood using the same techniques you use to understand your bathrobe boys. We are the custodians of Scripture...and so are you, but your group just won't read it plainly the way they want you to read them. Sorry, Marshmallow, try another argument.
