Gosh, C.S. Lewis again . . . that man got around.
In his splendid novella, The Great Divorce, one of the characters says of the Grey Town: it is Hell, but if you don't go back you may call it Purgatory.
I highly recommend it.

Wasnt it Fr. Groeshel who said Purgatory is a suburb of heaven or hell depending on how you look at it?Years ago I had the pleasure of attending Seminary and took a class on the "Divine comedy" taught by a native Italian priest. If you get a chance read it, and pay attention to the "Purgatorio." The images of the souls longing for heaven are amazing.
