ACT OF FAITH
O MY GOD, I firmly believe that Thou art one God in Three Divine Persons, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. I believe that Thy Divine Son became Man, and died for our sins, and that He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe these and all the truths which the Holy Catholic Church teaches, because Thou hast revealed them, Who canst neither deceive nor be deceived.
So, does this mean that Democrat leaders, who show dismay for “charity”, and propose instead government aid so folks to do not need to get “charity donations” - how humiliating!!! - does this mean that the Democrat party is anti-God? If charity is a theological virtue, and the Democrat party scorns this virtue, what does it say about Democrats?
A bit of background. In the 1960’s when Hubert Humphrey was VP under LBJ - and LBJ began the so-called “War on Poverty” - HHH was traveling all over and decrying the need for poor people to “have to be disgraced by accepting CHARITY”! I remember the sneer in his voice when he managed to get that awful word “CHARITY” past his liberal lips.
ACT OF HOPE
O MY GOD, relying on Thy almighty power and infinite mercy and promises, I hope to obtain pardon of my sins, the help of Thy grace, and Life Everlasting, through the merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen
