PITTSBURGH Eighty-eight former students who were sexually molested by a Franciscan friar who worked as an athletic trainer at a Catholic high school have settled their legal claims for $8 million, according to two attorneys who represent more than half the victims.

Actions speak louder than words. Don't you just hate it when your own words get thrown back in your face?
Those are from the Catholic church.
No, it was not inadvertent.
I hope that at some point our inner resources of patience, kindness, and a facility for reasoning together will, with God's grace, overcome the "obsession with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, and useless wranglings."
When people focus on Christ, there is unity despite denominational affiliation.
When the focus is on the denominations, there is division.
That's why faith IN CHRIST is paramount.
I realize that all those anathemas and statements and pronouncements by those popes apply to me as a former Catholic.
I'm not even exempt according to V2 because of this.....
"Outside the Church there is no salvation"
846 How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers?335 Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body:
Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.336
The underlines, bolded part excludes all former Catholics who have left the RCC.
We know that. So even if the Catholic church teaches that those who are *invincibly ignorant* can be saved, it still does not teach that those in my position can be.
I certainly appreciate your magnanimous attitude, but technically, it is at odds with the official teaching of Roman Catholicism.
For the record, I am not a member of any denomination because denominations don't save. Jesus does.
you have a perverted way to reach illogical conclusions..pathetic
And you could see my actions how? Isn't it a fact that you have seen nothing of me other than words? I would suggest you return to simply "you are wrong".
So all those popes in the past were wrong? Hmmm.
The Vatican did not people to hush up under the threat of excommunication.
The documents cited deal with canonical procedural due process in a canonical trial for the laicization of a priest. That is all.
Taking it to the secular authorities is in no instance forbidden, and in many instances required.
Did you get that?
and here I thought that churches were places where people who were sinners went to seek God....silly me!
Well then we can all sleep better. I'm curious however. I don't belong to any protestant organization or "church". So why keep bringing up Protestants? I condemn them as well if they molest or whatever.
>>I Think that I have pointed that out to you before.<<
LOL!! Yeah, like how the apostles couldn't read or write?
Ah, now you're beginning to get it.
God doesn't live in a church and nobody needs to go to one to find Him.
Silly you for sure.
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
And you thought the "church" was where He was. It's worse than silly.
Jesus told us to GO into the world to share the gospel. He didn't say to build fancy church buildings and wait for people to come in by themselves.
Continuing to bear false witness is an action.
I believe that you, like metmom have rejected basically all organized religion and have struck out on your own trying your best to interpret what the bible teaches. You pick and choose which passages they you want to believe and which you consider in error. You accuse a 2,000 year old organization, peopled by some of the most intelligent persons who ever lived to be lacking in their ability to correctly interpret a book that they wrote. It is very easy to be religious if you get to make up your own rules as you go along...no restrictions here, claim Jesus as your savior and you are saved....once saved, always saved...no need to adopt some lifestyle changes, just do as you wish and you are saved because you were "born again"...O.K. I guess, but I think that there is a lot more to it than that...for example, I think that it is a tenet of true Christianity that when Christ said "this is My Body and This My Blood" He meant it and gave that to us as an unsurpassed gift.....but that's just another of those Catholic teachings that you choose to ignore.
if, through your efforts, and I admire them, you are able to steer one person back to the Catholic church and salvation..your entire life will have been well spent!!!
that's because they aren't and their leadership isn't.
and He does so through the Catholic church.....period.

That ‘spirit of Mary’ points to Jesus...
Maybe Jesus is just a Greco roman Latin counterfeit for the Hebrew Messiah,Joshua in the English..
Now, that would be a sneaky thing for a master counterfeiter to pull..
And the mother and daughters are united in it.. makes sense why December 25, good Friday and esster are all counterfeits of His Holy Appointed times too.. add in the pope Gregory calendar and one may not be far enough away from mom..
Yeah, we've seen what you believe.

Pleas show the post where anyone said that. Surely you aren't just making a spurious comment are you?
Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.
*Once a priest, always a priest*.
That’s right, and once a Catholic always a Catholic, so get to confession as soon as you can, then to Mass. The sake of your eternal salvation depends on it. Don’t waste another minute.
