The Meaning of Six hundred and Sixty Six (666)
symbols of the Hebrew Language ^ | 10/18/14 | me

666 has meaning behind it. John the Revelator was Hebrew. He would have known that each Hebrew letter of the alphabet (which is a number too) has a meaning and/or symbol to it. In the scripture it was written as six hundred and sixty six. Not 666. I find the meaning of this is to be "in the end times, a head will emerge, Satan (snake), and will hook people into sin(disbelief in my book). Allow me to show you how it works by viewing this:

I believe that the letters used to write six hundred and sixty six would be the letter Tav because it equals 400, the letter Resh because it equals 200 and these two added together would equal six hundred. The letter Samech would be used to represent 60, the letter Vav would be used to represent the number 6. So, John would have used the letters Tav, Resh, Samech, and Vav (Vav can be written vav or waw depending on some people translate Hebrew) to represent six hundred and sixty six. Tav has a meaning of "end of existence". Resh has a meaning of "emerging head". Samech has a meaning of Satan or snake. And Vav has a meaning of hook and sin. In any case, you can find through these letters and symbols how John would have used Tav, Resh, Samech, and Vav to represent Satan and his prophetic future.

I’m not an expert, but my understanding is that a form of Aramaic (which is a very ancient tongue) was spoken by first century Jews, but they wrote almost everything in Hebrew. There are only a few aramaic phrases and verses recorded in the Bible.

If no sarcasm was intended why did you say what you said.

I have read Matthew 24, many, many and many many times. I know what I have read. I know what I believe. I know what is coming because the Bible tells me so. The LORD TOLD us to be looking up for our redemption draws near. I am looking up. Every day. Each and every day.

I understand what you are saying and all, but what is to stretch? I think it is clear that in the end a head emerges that is satan and he will hook people into sin. I don't see the stretch. I didn't make this up. My question would be, am I reading it correctly and should there be a calculation to understand. To go against what I am saying, I would think that maybe a calculation needs to be made instead of symbolism.

I don't know. I think somebody stated it earlier, that it will be understood at the appropriate time.

I must apologize to you for chiding you on the use of "ox" in the OT sense. I have been going on the current use of "ox" in our culture, which is as follows:

Webster's Third New International Dictionary Unabridged (1981)

Definition of ox:

1: The domestic bovine (Bos taurus); esp an adult castrated male used for a draft animal or for food --
2: a member of Bos or a closely allied genus
3: a person resembling an ox (as in placidity, stolidity, clumsiness, or strength)

However, apparently the translators of the KJV did not have Webster's dictionary (tongue in cheek), and their use of "ox" was rather looser, and included all cows. Their words as used in the Bible were:

From Strong's lexicon:

H7794
שׁור
shôr shore
H7788; a bullock (as a traveller): - bull (-ock), cow, ox.

======

From Brown, Driver, & Briggs:

H7794 שׁור shôr BDB Definition: 1) ox, bull, a head of cattle 1a) for plowing, for food, as sacrifice Part of Speech: noun masculine ======

So your use of "ox" for bulls is not wrong, but when sacrifices are mentioned, as in Leviticus:

"Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.
If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD . . .
And he shall kill the bullock before the LORD: and the priests, Aaron's sons, shall bring the blood, and sprinkle the blood round about upon the altar that is by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation." (Lev 1:2,3,5 AV)

=======

There, the Hebrew word for "bullock" is different than the word fpr "ox."

I was mistaken not to recall all the passages where the Hebrew word referred to any cow, where the KJV translated it uniformly as "ox," as you did.

Please forgive me for being offensive.

It is all OK, because I am learning here and that is what matters to me most.

I am sorry for not having full understanding and will continue to strive in my education.

Thank you for being part of that.

When Jesus sent out the disciples to spread the message, He told them that “The things that I do and more your too shall do in my name.”

As stated in Luke 17: 20 Once Jesus was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, and he answered, “The kingdom of God is not coming with things that can be observed; 21 nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There it is!’ For, in fact, the kingdom of God is within you.”

When you go within you find that you exist within Jesus. That’s what communion is all about. Jesus and you become one. When you realize this and experience it, things begin to happen and you are raised up while you are still here. That’s what the rapture is all about. That’s also what Jesus is talking about in John 17 and Matthew 24. Just as the lightning in the East is seen in the West, so will be the messiah... That’s because He is already here but people don’t know where to look to find Him. Look within and you will be raised up and find Him too.

The ability to walk on water is a natural attribute of being raised up. And, just as St Teresa of Avila experienced, it’s difficult to stay on the ground when you are totally filled with the Holy Spirit. This is not about showing off to others, it’s about making the journey within.

Or as an on base percentage it means you get on base 2 out of every three times you’re up, whether by hit, walk, hit by pitch, or error.

I say batting average, you say on base percentage.

That’s the trouble with these religion threads, nobody ever agrees about anything. :)

NOTHING MORE THAN ONE NUMBER AFTER 665 AND ONE NUMBER BEFORE 667.

Thanks for posting this!

There is a lot contained within each letter of the Hebrew alphabet.

Just meditating on a single letter, depending on the needs of the moment, or reciting the alphabet as a mantra is very beneficial.

Works great for tuning our inner receiver to the God channel.

numbers were invented by humans

Humans invented numbering systems but can only discover numbers, not invent new ones. Unlike the sensation of colors, a discovered number like pi or 666 is the same number in all dimensions of space, time, and beyond.

Yes, they are. The numbers we HAPPEN to use today are of Hindu/Arabic development, or as the site says: Arabic numerals or Hindu-Arabic numerals or Indo-Arabic numerals.

The ZERO is the real amazement...the concept of "not any" and putting it with 1-9 and then making our counting go on almost forever.

Replace the kingdom of God with the mark of the beast (in a manner of speaking, for comparison's sake) and you get:

>>>Once Jesus was asked by the Pharisees when the mark of the beast was coming, and he answered, “The mark of the beast is not coming with things that can be observed; 21 nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There it is!’ For, in fact, the mark of the beast is within you.”

Hmmm:
