Purgatory is therapeutic. Not punitive.
What a skewed argument! If God's mercy is great, why must we be purged before entering His presence?
And herein lies the crux of the matter that separates Catholics from protestants. You must work out your salvation, just as scripture tells us. Purgatory is a Mercy of God for those whose work is incomplete.
Having to be purged so one may enter His presence is putting (the Catholic false) god in a box.
Actually it's the opposite. It's a "box" of God's creation if you can call it that. He gave man Free Will and He abides by it. Which shows God's greatness and love rather than creating a race of automatons. Which highlights its no box at all.
Purgatory is therapeutic. Not punitive.
What happens in “purgatory?” How is the soul “purged?”
Is it accurate to describe the process as, in some way, “painful?”
John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
