Why would intelligent, successful people give up their careers, alienate their friends, and cause havoc in their families...to become Catholic? Indeed, why would anyone become Catholic?
As an evangelist and author who recently threw my own life into some turmoil by deciding to enter the Catholic Church, I've faced this question a lot lately. That is one reason I decided to make this documentary; it's part of my attempt to try to explain to those closest to me why I would do such a crazy thing.
Convinced isn't just about me, though. The film is built around interviews with some of the most articulate and compelling Catholic converts in our culture today, including Scott Hahn, Francis Beckwith, Taylor Marshall, Holly Ordway, Abby Johnson, Jeff Cavins, Devin Rose, Matthew Leonard, Mark Regnerus, Jason Stellman, John Bergsma, Christian Smith, Kevin Vost, David Currie, Richard Cole, and Kenneth Howell. It also contains special appearances by experts in the field of conversion such as Patrick Madrid and Donald Asci.
Ultimately, this is a story about finding truth, beauty, and fulfillment in an unexpected place, and then sacrificing to grab on to it. I think it will entertain and inspire you, and perhaps even give you a fresh perspective on an old faith.

Let all the children of the Catholic Church, who are so very dear to us, hear these words of ours. With a still more ardent zeal for piety, religion and love, let them continue to venerate, invoke and pray to the most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, conceived without original sin. Let them fly with utter confidence to this most sweet Mother of mercy and grace in all dangers, difficulties, needs, doubts and fears. Under her guidance, under her patronage, under her kindness and protection, nothing is to be feared; nothing is hopeless. Because, while bearing toward us a truly motherly affection and having in her care the work of our salvation, she is solicitous about the whole human race. And since she has been appointed by God to be the Queen of heaven and earth, and is exalted above all the choirs of angels and saints, and even stands at the right hand of her only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, she presents our petitions in a most efficacious manner. What she asks, she obtains. Her pleas can never be unheard.

One would think that Paul might have made at least one mention of this. Just one. Yet he didn't. He focused, and rightly so, on Christ. t
OH GOOD GRIEF.......
Not at all. We just live the Scriptures as opposed to the protestant who just reads them to search that out that which they find personally pleasing. Or to Monday-morning quarterback some crazy end-times prophecy that tickles their fancy.
Nope. Co-Redemptrix means "with". But why should we let that get in the way of some protestant screed.
Prove it.
Which is scripturally guaranteed to be free from error by the power of the Holy Spirit. It's a shame protestants don't believe Jesus. Their faith is a sham.
Their reliance is solely upon themselves. The autonomous self-will reigns supreme and not Christ. Pathetic.
Protestants walked away from Christ long ago. It's only through their baptism that they are members of the Body of Christ. Their walk with the Lord is in spite of themselves. Quite the precarious position to be in. This is what happens when protestants reject the fullness of Christian truth.
Nope. Co-Redemptrix means "with". But why should we let that get in the way of some protestant screed.
the prefix co actually means:
1. together, joint, jointly, mutually
by declaring mary to be co-redemtrix the roman catholic cult has elevated her to a position of equality with Jesus in terms of salvation.
The meaning: Mary has a part in our salvation.
Again, more blasphemy from the roman catholic cult that cannot be supported by ANY Scripture. None.
Anyone can do a study on the pagan “queen of heaven” to know where that all comes from.
Your own Catholic Church admits it. Why would you deny it?
good grief, we have machines that can work much faster than that....and, there are only 2 answers...yes and no, how hard can it be??
No. That's simply the conclusion reached by protestant rubes who have their own preconceived notions and can't read.
Again, more blasphemy from the roman catholic cult that cannot be supported by ANY Scripture. None.
And if that were so, so what? I don't have to rely on sola scriptura because I have the fullness of the Truth of Christ in the Catholic Church, both Tradition and Scripture. Issues of sola scriptura are solely within the province of the protestants. Not Catholics.
So she is omnipresent and omniscient?

Wow. Just. Wow. You admit the teaching Mary cannot be supported by Scripture and then you claim both Tradition and Scripture.
I sincerely pray that you discover the truth about Christ and His Word and come out of the roman catholic cult.
a great picture of Fatima!!!, do you have any idea of how many people personally witnessed miracles while the children witnessed their apparition???? Tens of thousands....close enough for me!
She has to be to do all the pope claimed in his 1854 ineffabilis deus.
Again...none of it can be supported with Scripture. NONE.

I didn't admit anything. All I said was that issues that seemingly can't be resolved through scripture are not my problem. Protestants invented sola scriptura so they'll have to live with the consequences. And if it only gets them so far, so be it. They know where the fullness of Christian truth resides and it's not with their own personal interpretation. But try telling them that and as a result give up that self-deifying power.
Christ on my terms is no way to go through life and is certainly no guarantee of the Beatific Vision.
kind of sounds like the biblical words of the angel, doesn't it???
My soul magnifies the Lord,
And my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.
For He has regarded the low estate of His handmaiden,
For behold, henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. And His mercy is on those who fear Him from generation to generation.
He has shown strength with His arm:
He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He has put down the mighty from their thrones,
and exalted those of low degree.
He has filled the hungry with good things;
and the rich He has sent empty away.
He has helped His servant Israel, in remembrance of His mercy;
As He spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to His posterity forever.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen
Magníficat ánima mea Dóminum,
et exsultávit spíritus meus
in Deo salvatóre meo,
quia respéxit humilitátem
ancíllæ suæ.
Ecce enim ex hoc beátam
me dicent omnes generatiónes,
quia fecit mihi magna,
qui potens est,
et sanctum nomen eius,
et misericórdia eius in progénies
et progénies timéntibus eum.
Fecit poténtiam in bráchio suo,
dispérsit supérbos mente cordis sui;
depósuit poténtes de sede
et exaltávit húmiles.
Esuriéntes implévit bonis
et dívites dimísit inánes.
Suscépit Ísrael púerum suum,
recordátus misericórdiæ,
sicut locútus est ad patres nostros,
Ábraham et sémini eius in sæcula.
Glória Patri et Fílio
et Spirítui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princípio,
et nunc et semper,
et in sæcula sæculórum.
Amen.
She became the Mother of God, in which work so many and such great good things are bestowed on her as pass man’s understanding. For on this there follows all honor, all blessedness, and her unique place in the whole of mankind, among which she has no equal, namely, that she had a child by the Father in heaven, and such a Child . . . Hence men have crowded all her glory into a single word, calling her the Mother of God . . . None can say of her nor announce to her greater things, even though he had as many tongues as the earth possesses flowers and blades of grass: the sky, stars; and the sea, grains of sand. It needs to be pondered in the heart what it means to be the Mother of God.
