Why would intelligent, successful people give up their careers, alienate their friends, and cause havoc in their families...to become Catholic? Indeed, why would anyone become Catholic?
As an evangelist and author who recently threw my own life into some turmoil by deciding to enter the Catholic Church, I've faced this question a lot lately. That is one reason I decided to make this documentary; it's part of my attempt to try to explain to those closest to me why I would do such a crazy thing.
Convinced isn't just about me, though. The film is built around interviews with some of the most articulate and compelling Catholic converts in our culture today, including Scott Hahn, Francis Beckwith, Taylor Marshall, Holly Ordway, Abby Johnson, Jeff Cavins, Devin Rose, Matthew Leonard, Mark Regnerus, Jason Stellman, John Bergsma, Christian Smith, Kevin Vost, David Currie, Richard Cole, and Kenneth Howell. It also contains special appearances by experts in the field of conversion such as Patrick Madrid and Donald Asci.
Ultimately, this is a story about finding truth, beauty, and fulfillment in an unexpected place, and then sacrificing to grab on to it. I think it will entertain and inspire you, and perhaps even give you a fresh perspective on an old faith.

Moving the placemarker forward...
I wasn't the only one who thought it was offensive to Christians, since it was deemed unsuitable for FR by the Admin Moderator.
I don't accuse you of anti-Jesus blasphemy, Elsie. I don't think that of you. Rewally, I don't. I just think you're so enthused about attacking the Catholic Faith that you slip into mocking Jesus' words without quite realize you've done it.
Then I guess Jesus was of the devil when He quoted SCRIPTURE at the devil in His temptation in the wilderness.
Jesus didn’t appeal to tradition or the authority of any governing religious body. He went right to SCRIPTURE and used that and that alone.
He did’t argue or debate with the enemy or try to reason with him. He was just quoting SCRIPTURE.
Looks like Protestants are keeping pretty good company with Jesus in relying on the word and its power.
Catholics rely on other people’s interpretations with absolutely no guarantee that they are correct.
The only thing Catholics have to go on is the say so of those (magisterium) who are claiming they are correct.
what faith do you practice?
Yup. But they never tell you HOW or WHY they think you’re wrong.
They just throw stuff out there hoping some of it will stick or someone will believe it.
All show...no substance......
That’s a pretty good summary of Catholicism, especially in light of the pictures showing the pope idol worshiping.
Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ alone.
Why is it so hard to make basic distinctions between obviously different levels of honor?
Well you are partially correct...all of the above are found in scriptures but are always negative examples.
Notice “The Lamb” is beneath Mary’s feet?
Have the Catholics built Mary a throne higher than the seat of Jesus?
You are wrong.
No.
I am the egg man
They are the egg men
I am the walrus
He didt argue or debate with the enemy or try to reason with him. He was just quoting SCRIPTURE.
Do Catholics believe quoting scripture is a form of “Catholic Bashing?”
Three more things you missed, man:
Semolina pilchard climbing up the Eiffel Tower
Elementary penguin singing Hare Krishna
Man you should have seen them kicking Edgar Alan Poe
You are wrong.
That struck me also. And the focus of the children is entirely on the statue of Mary. We see that so often. Christ is always in the background or not even there.
Yes, and if you only post scripture you are interpreting it wrong.
Goo Goo Ga Joob!
...”Do Catholics believe quoting scripture is a form of Catholic Bashing?.....
Of course if it’s supporting anything other than Catholicism....otherwise we’ be debating the scripture and what that means between both sides....that rarely happens, except with those minute few who possibly know the scripture...rather they go off on a tangent somewhere and hope you’ll go there with them.
