Why would intelligent, successful people give up their careers, alienate their friends, and cause havoc in their families...to become Catholic? Indeed, why would anyone become Catholic?
As an evangelist and author who recently threw my own life into some turmoil by deciding to enter the Catholic Church, I've faced this question a lot lately. That is one reason I decided to make this documentary; it's part of my attempt to try to explain to those closest to me why I would do such a crazy thing.
Convinced isn't just about me, though. The film is built around interviews with some of the most articulate and compelling Catholic converts in our culture today, including Scott Hahn, Francis Beckwith, Taylor Marshall, Holly Ordway, Abby Johnson, Jeff Cavins, Devin Rose, Matthew Leonard, Mark Regnerus, Jason Stellman, John Bergsma, Christian Smith, Kevin Vost, David Currie, Richard Cole, and Kenneth Howell. It also contains special appearances by experts in the field of conversion such as Patrick Madrid and Donald Asci.
Ultimately, this is a story about finding truth, beauty, and fulfillment in an unexpected place, and then sacrificing to grab on to it. I think it will entertain and inspire you, and perhaps even give you a fresh perspective on an old faith.

1 John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
>>It becomes problematic in a hurry when one insists on identical sameness doesn't it?<<
If it's not in scripture it can't be doctrine.
No, nor did he create logical fallacies which you employ, apparently reasoning that if a de-formation, then it means that this is what the Lord founded.
A deformation quite obviously took place and a church of is not what the apostles ministered in, while Rome's apostles are false ones, failing of both the qualifications and credentials. (Acts 1:21,22; 1Cor. 9:1; Gal. 1:11,17; 2Cor. 6:4-10; 12:12).
Yet the church as the body of Christ (Eph_1:22, Eph_3:10, Eph_3:21, Eph_5:23-2,27,29,32; Col_1:18,24, etc, the "one new man," "household of God." (Eph. 2:15,20) overcomes by faith, though the visible expression called the church has tares and wheat. Yet none of the 7 churches was told to submit to a supreme pope as a remedy, or a commendation, and which exalted supreme pope is also absent from all church epistles, as is a planned successor to Peter, who was the pastoral street level-leader among brethren.
The Catholic-Luciferian connection sure does get thrown around a lot.
As you see it.
More of the same. Repetition of even more propaganda will not make what is now a fundamentally unScriptural church into one that is valid.
You are wrong.
Most likely because you are ill informed.
Whether you realize it or not.
Try a little learning.
Here’s more of the TRUTH just for you.
The Holy Bible is a CATHOLIC document. Catholics determined what books would be in the New Testament, and they were canonized by a CATHOLIC pope. So any protestant that accepts the NT and agrees and it’s 27 books accepts the authority of the Catholic Church, i.e., the Magisterium.
In what way am I wrong?
Could you explain the difference between other religions and catholics.... who both kneel and bow before statues ..both bend the knee and move their lips as in prayer before these statues.... And both claim they are not worshiping the statue but what it represents.
Why? Do you somehow believe that other religions can lay claim to Truth and that there is some sort of equivalence here between them and Catholics? Is yours a question of theology or anthropology?
It helps to remember that we are dealing with matters of Truth. Which as I told you before concerns itself what what a thing is, versus what a thing looks like.
“....Catholic theology is Christian....”
No it is not...but catholics do think/believe it is, sadly to their own hurt.
..... Which is why believers who practice true Christianity cannot agree with catholic practices and traditions, which Jesus clearly taught not to do or be.
I’ll repeat...(since you misquoted my words).....Christians posting do have a broad and complete understanding of Christian Theology......and just so you understand....all of that rests firmly ‘on the person of Jesus Christ’, who says we are “complete” in Him....Further, He gave us His word...and in case you need to be refreshed....The “Word of Christ” IS the Christian doctrine.
As is written....Let ‘the word of Christ’ dwell in you richly in all wisdom....For the LORD gives wisdom, from His mouth come knowledge and understanding....Col.3 /Prov. 2
and further as is written.....As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ‘in Him’,..... rooted and built up ‘in Him’..... and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving..... Beware lest anyone cheat (plunder you or take you captive) you through ‘philosophy’’’ and ‘empty deceit’,’’’ according’ to the tradition of men’, ‘’’according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.’’’’’ For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, which is the head of all principality and power...Col.2
...”what a thing is, versus what a thing looks like”....

there you go ~ ~ ~ wrong and rabid
your blah blah about statues is very old screed.
the traditional way to respond has to do with the picture in your wallet of your loved ones.
you have it and carry it and look at it due to your love and affection for them. you - please - are not worshipping the thing.
to cont
lets face it - there are STATUES ALL OVER THE PLACE, of which do you complain? - of people who are admired, as ex
George Washington, Lincoln, et al.
BVM is admired, but not only that. She is The Sinless One. HIGHLY to be admired.
She is MOTHER OF GOD. Does it get any better !
She is closest to Jesus. Many people ask others to pray for them. Some people think BVM is the person most efficatious to pray to. And so we do.
This inspires us to remember her - in song and art.
Give me a break - we arnt worshipping her. How much intelligence do you give us credit for - sheesh
Scott Hahn, gammey never responded to my question about his publishing history or level of education.
You are wrong
NKP_Vet, honestly, once again you provide more argumentation against being a RC as your Roman reasoning is frankly absurd. Having the same judgment on an issue as someone else does not mean you accept the authority of that person or institution. Agreeing with the judgment of an Italian judge or court on an issue does not mean accept the authority of that judge or court, any more than agreeing with the judgment of Rome on many issues means accepting the authority of her.
And instead of submitting to Rome on such, souls examined Truth claims and came to their own judgment based upon evidence. Which is also how the NT church began, being in dissent from those who had authority, sitting in the seat of Moses. (Mt. 23:2) While in this case they certainly could agree that their office was valid and had authority, yet that did not mean unconditional submission to it, as submission to the authority of men is always conditional in Scripture.
It is Rome's novel assuredly infallible magisterium that has gone off the rails in this, thus resulting in such absurd reasoning as you display trying to defender her in required submission to this unScriptural autocratic entity, which has presumed to infallibly declare she is and will be perpetually infallible whenever she speaks in accordance with her infallibly defined (scope and subject-based) formula, which renders her declaration that she is infallible, to be infallible, as well as all else she accordingly declares. Quite the spurious system.
Actually, other religions or philosophies can lay claim to some Truth, (Acts 17:28) but the status of a truth claim is determined in the light of the wholly inspired and assured word of God, the Scriptures.
And as i have said before, one would have a hard time in Bible times explaining kneeling before a statue and praising the entity it represented in the unseen world, and as having Divine powers and glory, and making offerings and beseeching such for Heavenly help, directly accessed by mental prayer.
Moses, put down those rocks! I was only engaging in hyper dulia, not adoring her. Can't you tell the difference?
Mary herself would never pray to anyone else (angels) but the Lord, nor did she in Scripture.
