Why would intelligent, successful people give up their careers, alienate their friends, and cause havoc in their families...to become Catholic? Indeed, why would anyone become Catholic?
As an evangelist and author who recently threw my own life into some turmoil by deciding to enter the Catholic Church, I've faced this question a lot lately. That is one reason I decided to make this documentary; it's part of my attempt to try to explain to those closest to me why I would do such a crazy thing.
Convinced isn't just about me, though. The film is built around interviews with some of the most articulate and compelling Catholic converts in our culture today, including Scott Hahn, Francis Beckwith, Taylor Marshall, Holly Ordway, Abby Johnson, Jeff Cavins, Devin Rose, Matthew Leonard, Mark Regnerus, Jason Stellman, John Bergsma, Christian Smith, Kevin Vost, David Currie, Richard Cole, and Kenneth Howell. It also contains special appearances by experts in the field of conversion such as Patrick Madrid and Donald Asci.
Ultimately, this is a story about finding truth, beauty, and fulfillment in an unexpected place, and then sacrificing to grab on to it. I think it will entertain and inspire you, and perhaps even give you a fresh perspective on an old faith.

1 Corinthians 7:5 Do not deprive each other except perhaps by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
Here is YOUR chance to comment on...
Mary: Oh Joseph; can't you see that I am PRAYING!!??
Fruit Loops?
or maybe Fruity Pebbles?
Prots love to bear false witness dont they?
All I’m saying is I did not find any of those times when the question “then why in the world did (Catholics) kill others for wanting their own copy of the Bible.”
I don’t believe the answer has posted. Perhaps you could be a dear and share it with us. A link or two would be nice.
That which calls itself Catholic is nothing even close to the Church described in the epistles.
You are wrong.
1 Timothy 3:1-2
sure it is...a true Christian is someone who follows Christ and does it the way He told us to. He didn't found the Catholic religion so people could choose to ignore it, He founded it to become the way to salvation. All worked pretty well for 1,600 years, then along came the churches of what's happening now and decided that they knew better than He did and made up their own rules....Good luck with that...I'll stick to the church that He founded.
besides, the Catholic church teaches that she was concieved without sin, not that she never erred throughout her life.
You mean she didn’t rise from the sea-foam of the ocean on a giant seashell?
I have thought about this. I can not remember the last time a large group did this if we ever did. Why say this when we can pray our own prayers? We do not repeat prayers.
Catholics deny that they pray TO saints and Mary then when shown proof that they actually do contrive some sort of denial. They are not deceiving anyone but themselves.
Or they post silly, meaningless pictures of cereal boxes or simply say “you’re wrong” with no actual explaination or rebuttal.
that's true, they compiled written documents, copied the old testament books, edited out some books they felt weren't inspired...all this with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The result was, of course, the bible...the complete Bible, not the edited version. Over a 1,600 year period they protected, HAND COPIED, and provided it to those who could afford it.Libraries, Governments, the wealthy all over the world possessed the real bible. The average citizen certainly couldn't possess one as they were too rare and expensive. When the printing press was invented, the bible became much easier to obtain but alas, the vast majority of the people couldn't read because there was nothing to learn on and nothing to read. However, very shortly after that, people began to learn and actually own a printed document...the bible was sought after and provided. The Catholic church, at that time, was very careful to ascertain that only the true translation would be provided to the people...they were, at that time, the "protectors of Christianity" because all sorts of reinterpretations were presenting themselves. Thanks to the Catholic church, we have the true, unedited version of God's holy book.
nope, I am well aware of the difference between Transubstantiation and consubstantiation....Transub. means the water, wine, and bread actually become the Body,Blood, Soul, and Divinity of Christ while retaining the appearance of bread and wine.....they look like and taste like bread and wine....but in reality they aren't....and to answer your question, I have no idea of whether or not Christ partook of that meal.
They now fear the scripture that refutes the beliefs. They also fear the information we find within the Catholic Church itself.
the Lord's Prayer is said at every Catholic Mass and sung at most....Even the old Latin Mass had the Pater Noster.
The Catholic Church can't even discern that the Muslims serve a different God. They still claim Catholics and Muslims serve the same God. Who in their right mind would trust them with that record? Not me.
