The U.S. Is Over, Get Used To It
Creative Minority Reporta ^ | October 8, 2014 | Patrick Archbold

Many people are understandably dismayed by the the Supreme Court's refusal to hear several gay marriage cases effectively codifying gay marriage in several states.

While it is certainly disappointing, it isn't really unexpected.

I hate to break this news to you, especially if you are one of these people who think that this country, a country founded with limited government, separation of powers, and federalism, is still recoverable by normal means, it isn't.

The U.S. as we knew it and understood it is gone and it isn't coming back, at least not by regular constitutional means. Nope.

Federalism, limited government, checks and balances, all gone. We now have a rapidly increasing federal behemoth with unlimited powers granted to itself rapidly centralizing power in the person of the president (I don't say office, but person). All of which is hell bent on running every part of your life including your morality, all aided and abetted by an unelected black-robed oligarchy.

You can elect all the Republicans you want, do you really think they will change anything? Not a chance.

Nope the U.S. is done. And you know what? That may be a good thing. Such government, even one founded on the principles of limited constitutional powers and federalism, can only work for a people for whom Christ is their King. That isn't us.

I don't know where we go from here, but I suspect that it is bad. I continue to believe I have a moral obligation to behave in a lawful way, but I no longer consider myself bound in loyalty to a government that has has moved beyond the powers granted to it. Morality, decency, and legitimate freedom will not be restored to Americans through election, it will take other means. I believe the world will undergo a crisis incomprehensible to most and what will emerge from the other side is a different people. That different people will choose a different government.

Until then, we have chosen tyranny and tyranny is what we will get.

The world is always gone mad, the average Joe is always screwed up and easily mislead, we’re always doomed for one reason or another. These things are givens. Conservatives just need to embrace the suck and be willful. Willfullness and tenacity are how you win in this imperfect world of ours. Brittleness, perfectionism, and complaining are how you lose. I want to see those traits on their side, not our side, because I want to win.

Your reliable source is absolutely correct. We should all be preparing ourselves spiritually first and then practically... making sure that our trust is overwhelmingly in God rather than in ourselves. What is coming is something that this country has never EVER seen on this soil before. Families need to be praying together NOW.

I think this is pretty much true now. The twin evils of abortion and gay marriage signaled the end of spiritual America, and the U.S. Supreme Court was the final enabler of these vile things. The end of political America has come also. I don't think anyone can convince either the Congress or the Federal Courts that Obama is mentally incapacitated and is unable to perform his Constitutional duties.

His foreign policies are preposterous and are bordering on catastrophic. His domestic policy regarding Ebola is something to the effect that we can best control Ebola by not stopping people exposed to it from entering this country. It's over. The best you can hope for is to die last. Or depending upon how horrific it gets, maybe you would want to die first.

There are other countries in Africa, that thankfully have NOT been affected by EBOLA.

Good news, Negeria beat it back!

because I want to win.

We will win. But first we will lose almost everything.

And I agree that we are always gone mad. But it’s like a guy that always overspends and maxes out his credit cards. You don’t do that ad-infinitum. Eventually you are sitting on the sidewalk because the sheriff has kicked you out of your house. And three years later you are on a freeway offramp holding up a cardboard sign that ends in the words, “God bless”.

The world’s economy is very close to that point. It’s not being a doomsayer to prepare for that any more than it was being a doomsayer to be a jew in mid 1930’s Germany that took a boat to England.

As a farmer knows that the time of harvest is near, we are instructed to recognise the signs of the times.

I believe we are coming close to hitting to use an often used term, “rock bottom” and from there you rise up again.

Yep. And it’s like falling from 10,000 feet without a parachute. For the first few thousand feet you sorta notice the ground coming “up”. The closer to the ground you get, it continues to appear to exponentially speed up in its approach. The last couple of hundred feed go by in a blink.

Assuming 10,000 feet began at, oh, I dunno, lets place it at when nixon eliminated the gold standard, I’d say we are in the last 20 to 30 feet of the fall.

Yes, it’s changing that fast. And it is definitely going to leave a mark.

The only question now is do we frap or bounce.

"Offical"?

It is considered good form to ping the people about whom you are
speaking , especially if you are criticizing them.

It's interesting that you see fit to call people names
when you are clearly and demonstrably a half-wit.

Negeria beat it back!

Did you mean Nigeria? Derp.

I don’t think we need to hit bottom to win. We’re deep in dept but we’re also extremely productive. If we shape up we can get ourselves out of this hole.

If we allow ourselves to hit bottom all bets are off. People are good at drawing the wrong conclusions from a crisis. A collapse could be the final slamming of the door on the classical liberalism of our founding. I’d rather work to avert that possibility. Relying on a collapse to scare the country straight is too much of a gamble. It’s like a hail Mary pass. It might work but probably won’t.

Obama’s whole purpose has been to overwhelm the system: Overwhelm the economy with aid to other countries, huge numbers of needy illegal aliens, and punishment for business. Overwhelm the health care system with bureaucracy and huge numbers of needy illegal aliens. Overwhelm the military by filling it with illegals who have no real allegiance to our country and put weapons in their hands. Overwhelm the middle class by taxing them beyond reason and nullifying their cherished institutions. Overwhelm homeland security by inviting huge numbers of illegal aliens to flood our borders and camouflage the influx of terrorists masquerading as Mexicans. Overwhelm our police by inciting race hatred and anarchy.

Now he will overwhelm all systems by importing ebola, using our soldiers as incubators, and transportation, education, and civic functioning will grind to a halt.
