Great info. My daughter’s social studies class will feature a unit on the Crusades and from what I’ve read of her textbook, it ... ahem... lacks a lot of information. This series will be recorded and watched in our house. Thanks!

No, because the network was founded by a nun (Mother Angelica) on her own. It is still owned and run by the sisters and supported by donations. The Vatican does not monetarily support it or is involved in the content or operations. Mother Angelica once said that if she ever was in the position that she had to turn it over to the US bishops, she’d blow the whole damn thing up.

How long before Pope Francis pulls the plug on EWTN?It doesn't belong to the Pope. The US Bishops tried, and failed, then tried to create a competitor network. I think IT failed, as well.
