Poor St. Patrick. Under his name debauchery has been cheerfully permitted to smear his parade celebration taking it into the pit.
This should be a diocesan celebration only, and not a compromise with the devil.
Are they going to alloy polygamists, pedaphiles, and those into bestiality? How about atheists, pagans, polytheists, and Satan worshippers? Since the only reason the LGBT people want to march in this parade is to disrespect the Catholic church, and faith, why shouldn’t all fringe groups be allowed to soil this event?

If the groups march simply as participants under the banner of St. Patrick, there should not be any scandal.
If they raise their rainbow flag or any banner indicating they are queer, for abortion or anything else, the intention of the parade to honor the saint is lost.
Cardinal Dolan needs to look east and use the example of the Iraqi and Syrian bishops, priests, religious and laity to understand faith in the face of extreme persecution because he is making a mockery of their sacrifices and martyrdom.
Welcoming the sinner is one thing. Endorsing the sin is quite another.
