Boy, the Cardinal Dolan hits just keep on coming.
From the Cause of Archbishop Sheen
It is with immense sadness that the Most Reverend Daniel R. Jenky, CSC, Bishop of Peoria and President of the Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Foundation, announced today that the Cause for Sheen’s beatification and canonization has for the foreseeable future been suspended. The process to verify a possible miracle attributed to Sheen had been going extremely well, and only awaited a vote of the Cardinals and the approval of the Holy Father. There was every indication that a possible date for beatification in Peoria would have been scheduled for as early as the coming year. The Holy See expected that the remains of Venerable Sheen would be moved to Peoria where official inspection would be made and first class relics be taken. Subsequently, the Archdiocese of New York denied Bishop Jenky’s request to move the body to Peoria. After further discussion with Rome, it was decided that the Sheen Cause would now have to be relegated to the Congregation’s historic archive.This release is shocking in its directness that Archdiocese of New York (Read Cardinal Dolan) repeatedly promised to transfer the remains of Archbishop Sheen and has now reneged, causing a fatal blow to the cause.
Countless supporters especially from the local church in Central Illinois have given their time, treasure and talent for this good work with the clear understanding that the body of Venerable Sheen would return to the Diocese. Bishop Jenky was personally assured on several occasions by the Archdiocese of New York that the transfer of the body would take place at the appropriate time. New York’s change of mind took place as the work on behalf of the Cause had reached a significant stage.
Bishop Jenky is what is technically called the “actor” of the Sheen Cause. The Diocese of Peoria and the Sheen Foundation have prayed and labored for this good work for the last twelve years. The Bishop is heartbroken not only for his flock in Peoria but also for the many supporters of the Sheen Cause from throughout the world who have so generously supported Peoria’s efforts. It should be noted, however, that saints are always made by God not by man. Efforts for many causes have sometimes taken decades or even centuries. Bishop Jenky urges that those who support the Sheen Cause continue their prayers that God’s will be made manifest.
The problem is that reportedly New York gave Peoria permissions, cooperated all along the way and then, oddly, withdrew it.
This would seem to mean NY was either curiously late developing their sorrows, for losing the remains of Archbishop Sheen to Peoria, or something came up and is yet to be revealed that NY deemed in need of redress.
Did they not understand that sainthood and a shrine designation do not stand alone, and would additionally require the remains? Of coures not.
Maybe some explanation from Cardinal Dolan will come today. It certainly should come, and forthwith.
Cardinal Dolan does not need another scandal inside of three weeks laid at his feet; such as his actions perilous to the TLM at Holy Innocents in Manhattan; the reassignment and replacement of their priest, the reported surprise remodeling decision; the Cardinal’s cheerful, self-satisfied sounding remarks showing support for the inclusion of gay debauchery in the poor St. Patrick’s now embarrassing, maligned celebration parade, in the name of not God, but UNITY.
And, now this business affecting the sainthood process of dear Bishop Sheen.
Yikes.
My computer blew up, didn’t feel like fixing it myself as usual so I farmed it out. Repair place fiasco ensued. STILL not fixed...got it back though. This one’s a temp.
Honestly in my time off I have been thinking about things. Every so often I gotta take a break as the stupid here is just too much. I try dealing with it as many of us do, but overall, I’m throwing in the towel. If the powers that be here want to let FR be used as a propaganda wing for leftist GOP types as they have (see latest ongoing/increasing Romneybot incursion for proof and chalk it up as ‘lesson unlearned’), it is pointless to rail against it here.
I’ll post occasionally when I read something approaching nuclear level stupidity just cuz, but if the PRB allow it, there is no point in fighting it here.

I'm not running interference as you say. You asked for proof and I just thought I'd answer you since you seemed to lazy to do any research yourself! Are you always this rude and angry?
Everybody needs to go back and watch some of his “Life is Worth Living” episodes and see his STRONG condemnation of communism. If I remember correctly, he had a whole series on it. I believe this is the major reason for this reversal of Cardinal Dolan. Can’t have a Saint (or even Blessed) who spouted off against communism. It might not look good with the “in-crowd.”
Incrementalism. It is the approach used bu every leftist power to change any situation long term.
Move left a bit at a time in all ways. This is simply one more way. Eventually one wakes up in a whole new world that is a polar opposite of their old one and they got themselves there by accepting one little thing at a time.
When one looks across all Christian faiths, the trend is unmistakeable. Ever leftward. And they co-pted the very core principles of Christianity to push it. Love, charity, peace, harmony and most importantly “Faith”.
Now one might say that Faith is the outlier. But how many times have we all heard lately about all the things “Jesus would do” or “want” ?
For a good look at what is happening with rewriting language and history within Christianity today, read or Reread Orwell. Because that is exactly what is happening from many pulpits and within many flocks today.
