And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.( Revelation 12:1-3)
We return to the vision of John the apostle, in Revelation 12, which explains the spiritual reality behind the phenomenon of anti-Semitism. The woman is Israel. As in Joseph’s dream, she is clothed in the Sun, and with the moon, and crowned with twelve stars.
She has labored and travailed, bringing forth the Messiah, and the written scripture, and maintained the true worship over centuries, enduring the reproach of humanity in the process.
The Dragon, is “that serpent of old…”, the Devil. Note that He is crowned with seven crowns and has seven heads and ten horns. It is enough at this point to note that this description of the Devil tells us that all of the worldly power, political and military are at his disposal. John tells us in his first epistle, “The whole World lies in the (power of) the wicked One”.
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.(Revelation 12:4-5)
The Dragon stood before the pregnant woman waiting to devour the coming man-child, destined to rule the world. But the Dragon was unable to do so.Having failed to devour Christ, the man-child, resulted in the Dragon being thrown out of heaven, to the earth in great wrath.
The Devil knows His time is short, and that if He is going to evade judgment, He must destroy the ones God has promised to preserve, Israel and the church, “the Woman and the remnant of her seed”. This is the meaning of the rising tide of anti-Semitism and the concentrated attempt to isolate and destroy the fledgling state of Israel.
Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.(Revelation 12:12-13)
For Jews, France and Germany have begun to resemble 1938, and thanks to the waves of Islamic immigration, much of the formerly sympathetic Judeo Christian world is awash with anti Israel demonstrations. Every University campus in the western world now has anti-Israel agitation clubs, and even in the evangelical churches there are those who are teaching the heresy of the disenfranchisement of Israel.
We are beginning to see and hear the flood of words, Media propaganda, coming out of the serpent’s mouth, accusing the woman, stirring up hatred and resentment even among once fair-minded people, all in an attempt to destroy the woman.
And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.(Rev 12:15)
Satan is wroth with Israel, and with ‘the remnant of her seed‘ , ie the church. The Muslims proclaim, “First we will annihilate the Saturday people, and then we will destroy the Sunday people”. Satan’s arch apostle, Mohamed, declared in one of the Hadiths, that “The last day will not come until we have wiped out the Jews. On that day if a JEw hides behind a Rock, even the rocks will cry out, ‘here is a Jew hiding, servant of Allah, come and Kill Him! ‘ “.
The world is also headed for a Christian persecution madness. The neo Pagans who have now taken the reins of power in the once Judeo Christian West have no place in their ‘brave new world’, their perverted, godless, humanistic Utopia, for those who insist that there is only one true faith, and that sin is evil, and that all men must appear at the throne of God’s judgment.
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.(Revelation 12:17)

The so-called prophet knew enough of Judaism as to try and convince the Jews of Medina that he was the promised moshiach their faith promised. When they rejected him he want on a murderous tear through the whole region, beheading those who rejected him and taking women and the young in slavery.
More wholly tyrannical than holy, anyday.

Given that they were Catholic children, and given that The Church has historically glossed over the book of Revelation, they were unlikely to have encountered the passage cited at all, let alone with enough emphasis to imprint that singular set of characteristics in their pliable young minds...

Once upon a time I read a piece (I think possibly from Jacques Vallee, in Passport to Magonia) on apparitions, that claimed that the Virgin of Guadalupe was a apparition about the defeat of Quetzalcoatl. "Feathered Serpent Todden Upon."

Great post! We are definitely at the end of the age. Lots of bad stuff coming. For the righteous our faith is sure to be tested maybe unto death - but in the long term, things look great! Come Lord Jesus!

The woman of Revelation isn’t Mary, but Israel. Rev 12:13 (NIV), “When the dragon saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child”. Jesus was the one that was pursued not his parents. If it had been parents Herod would have killed parents, but he didn’t he only killed the male babies. Matt 2:16 (NIV), “When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi”.
