What he is referring to is the heavy-handed proselytism that happens when non-Catholics try to persuade a Catholic.

Catholics will always invite (plant a seed) and let God do the rest.

He isn’t saying for us to “bug out” on evangelization. He’s saying “dig in” by contacting and inviting and letting God do the rest.

He’s not saying that at all. He is promoting religious indifferentism.

“But the death of the soul is worse than freedom of error,” as Augustine was wont to say.” - Pope Gregory XVI, Mirari Vos

"Most distressing, especially from the Chief Shepherd of the Church, is this statement: "I’m not interested in converting Evangelicals to Catholicism."

To which you replied:

"What he is referring to is the heavy-handed proselytism that happens when non-Catholics try to persuade a Catholic."
You can read the pope's mind??

What a horrible way to express himself if you are right.

Having been involved in evangelism as a non-Catholic for decades (sometimes to unsaved Catholics), I must say I have never done or seen a scenario such as which you described.

I really doubt the pope is that coarse.
