(Vatican Radio) Pope Francis returned to the southern Italian city of Caserta on Monday for a private visit to the Pentecostal community known as the Evangelical Church of Reconciliation. The Pope first met the founder of the community, Pastor Giovanni Traettino, during his time as archbishop of Buenos Aires and over the past year he has met and received groups of Pentecostals at his Santa Marta residence here in the Vatican.

"so the Church is one in diversity"
Just read that nancy pelosi is being denied communion. Anyone know if this is true? About time.
I’m sorry, but exactly what is he apologizing for?
You have to listen to find out. I don’t feel like listening. It seems to me that Francis is just like Ubama, always apologizing for perceived misdeed his embarrassing followers did.
So why were they persecuted? Did they offer the Mass in Latin, or something?
It doesn’t really say. The audio is basically the same as the written words.
Can you post the link?
When Pentecostalism started in 1908 on Azusa St. in LA (within walking distance of Japantown, but I digress), people making $3000 a year were in the top 1% of income. With both price and dollar inflation, that figure is at least 100 times higher today. Wouldn’t that make the present-day adherents Dollarcostals?
Next thing you know, he’s gonna be apologizing for the extermination of the Cathars, and the St Bartholomew’s Day Massacre. This man is obviously not cut out for the Inquisition.
The Pentecostals are very persecuted in Italy. All Protestant denominations are. What he is trying to say that though some are Roman Catholic, we’re all catholic, and the Holy Spirit guides us all.
If we could just put the Catholic, and Protestant bullshit aside for one minute, maybe Jesus could be exalted.
Maybe, until someone got irate over wine, or transubstantiation, or eternal virginity, or whatever you seek to use as a dividing line instead of pursuing greater love for those that love Christ.
I was raised Catholic, got saved as a Baptist, Healed as a Pentecostal and now my family goes to Our Lady of Mercy in Baton Rouge. ALL OF IT MATTERED.
I dont’ get some of the people on this board who are professionally pissed off over everything. Jesus is going to set it straight. I find great beauty in the Catholic church. I found great faith as a Protestant. I found God personally as a Pentecostal. Now I celebrate the Eucharist in a Catholic church.
There will be some smartass who says I am confused. Not so, there is no confusion in Christ. I am free.
This may have to do with Taize, an ecumenical community, rather than any Protestant communities.
What he is trying to say that though some are Roman Catholic, were all catholic, and the Holy Spirit guides us all.

They are at least openly admitting that things have CHANGED.
Not that anyone need apologize for those < /sarc>
“I was raised Catholic, got saved as a Baptist, Healed as a Pentecostal and now my family goes to Our Lady of Mercy in Baton Rouge. ALL OF IT MATTERED.”
If you weren’t saved during your Catholic upbringing, you weren’t raised Catholic properly.
There are other problems with your little rant, but I’ll save those for a later time. Right now I’ve more pressing matters like making money...
When’s he going to apologize for pushing evolution and higher criticism?
Now that there is funny!
Right after he apologizes for persecuting the Traditional Catholic Faith.
