In a Monday letter to a Mexico City Vatican conference, Pope Francis wrote that the tens of thousands of Central American children illegally crossing into the United States should be welcomed and protected.
Just days after President Obama visited Texas and pledged a solution to the US border crisis, the Pope said migrant childrens human rights are being violated.
Many people forced to emigrate suffer, and often, die tragically, he said. Many of their rights are violated. They are obliged to separate from their families and, unfortunately, continue to be the subject of racist and xenophobic attitudes. The Pope also advocated that nations advocate development in the Central American countries people are fleeing....

So, when the Vatican kicks out the Gypsies, we should all protest.
Of course, that is different /sarcasm
I could not have said it better myself-—and I am a practicing Catholic. Take them in Popa Frances.
Deport them to the Vatican.
Does the Pope also think that Muslim’s should be “welcome” throughout the Christian world.
How’s that working out?
I keep thinking this pope is gonna turn me away from the church
You have a job, Pope. Many formerly hard-working Americans don’t, and can’t take any more increases in the cost of goods or taxes to pay for the new arrivals.
Well, there are “scare quotes” around the word welcomed.
Tell His Holiness that we will as soon as he tears down the walls surrounding the Vatican
They bring them over on the Catholic dime, then turn them over to the American people in general. That, is not Christian. BTW, I am Catholic.
The Pope said this...
Many of their rights are violated. They are obliged to separate from their families and, unfortunately, continue to be the subject of racist and xenophobic attitudes.
You'll have to ask him who he specifically meant.
Did he send a similar FAX to Mexico?
Frankie. Please take care of those who need it in their own countries. You’re beginning to sound like Glenn Beck.
No problem, we can fly the children and their families to the Vatican and drop them off. The tickets might be a little more expensive, but I think it’s worth it since I am sure the Pope will offer them such a warm welcome. The Catholic Church can sell some of it’s billions of dollars of treasure to take care of them too, thus alleviating the church of its guilt at being so wealthy. I am sure all the pedophile priests the Catholic church is hiding would be a bit too happy with this development, so the Pope better make sure he has plenty of money to pay for the kids security as well.
It’s getting really hard to defend the Catholic church with this Pope in charge. I think a lot of conservative non-Catholics used to at least try to defend the RCC against sickening and constant attacks from the left, but at this point I am beginning to lack much sympathy.
With all due respect to the Pope, he needs to consider the possibility that kids crossing border illegally are being used as political pawns.
Step 1: Welcome them.
Step 2: Rehydrate them.
Step 3: Feed them.
Step 4: Give then five minutes to make their case that they are refugees.
Step 5: Deport them after the immigration judge finds they have no case.
Those five steps should take no more than an hour.
Will set my a$$ down in the Vatican and demand I live there...then never embrace the Catholic church...then introduce my own religion and see if he wants me to stay. Case closed.
Drop the illegals in Vatican square.
This ‘pope’ is to the Catholic Church, as Obama is to the United States. Calling Francis stupid and a dupe is being extremely charitable.
The most evident mark of Gods anger, and the most terrible castigation He can inflict upon the world, is manifest when He permits His people to fall into the hands of a clergy who are more in name than in deed, priests who practice the cruelty of ravening wolves rather than the charity and affection of devoted shepherds. They abandon the things of God to devote themselves to the things of the world and, in their saintly calling of holiness, they spend their time in profane and worldly pursuits. When God permits such things, it is a very positive proof that He is thoroughly angry with His people and is visiting His most dreadful wrath upon them. St. John Eudes
You first. Open the borders of Vatican City; have the Swiss Guards put down their battleaxes and pick up some lice, TB, and scabies.
I hate the expression of racist and xenophobic attitudes, because it tends to upend any rational discussion of what to do with this huge illegal trafficking of human beings across our borders --- something Pope Francis has also spoken strongly against, the immorality of human trafficking.
Do I feel insulted? No. "If the shoe doesn't fit, I don't wear it."
