Attributing motives to another poster is "making it personal." That is what you did in the removed post. It is also what you did in your post to me, i.e. attributing to me the motive of anti-Catholicism. That accusation, by the way, is blatantly false.

ad hominems are not tolerable in religious debate at all.

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal. Discuss the message, not the messenger.

Also, when you mention another poster, be sure to ping him or her.
