Jesus said to them again, Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you. And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.

Ahhh.
What we do know from Scripture is that Joesph was a carpenter.
And from extra-Biblical sources we know that sons were trained in their father’s craft.
Do we know for sure? No. But that would have been the norm.

"[You underestimate what God can do.] He just happened to use them, like he used others throughout Scripture." That's exactly what I was saying!! Read what you wrote. That's it, and admirably stated.
No, I don't underestimate what God can do. What he did was, He used the Church to further His mission.
It's all His: His guidance, His power, His mission. His Church.

Don’t sprain your shoulder patting Rome on it’s back.
Those who follow Jesus through faith are His church.

People who follow Jesus through faith! I'm for that!
And on that note, G'night, my dear. I have to go out and water my plants before it gets completely dark. I'll be up early tomorrow, but not sure I'll be on the computer til after Church, or even afternoon.
Meanwhile: think BASIC.

It isn’t just Catholics that are being killed in those middle east countries, other Christians of other denominations, and other people of other religions.

Someone can come up and say that Catholicism is a false religion, and no, Christ didn't establish Peter as the first Pope.
Christ said that upon this Rock, the truth that he is the Christ, the Messiah, that he would build his church upon that truth, that he ? Christ is in fact the anointed one, the Messiah, the truth of the Gospel is what the Church will be built upon.
The protest part of Protestant is people worshiping God freely without some man in Roman telling them what to believe, or how to worship, or what parts of the bible that they are allowed to read or even see or some government telling them how to worship.
I do believe that's why the Old World settlers came to the New World, for religious freedom, and from religious persecution, from the Catholic Church.
The first few settlers, other than Jamestown were the Pilgrims who were Protestants, not Catholics.
The Spanish Catholics settled in Spanish settlements as missions in areas as in Florida, Georgia, Texas, New Mexico, California, but that was not considered English colonies.
British colonists who were predominantly Protestant, opposed not only the Roman Catholic Church but also the Church of England.
Catholicism was introduced to the English colonies in 1634 with the founding of the Province of Maryland by Cecil Calvert, 2nd Baron Baltimore.
Salvation by faith, don't leave Earth without it, for NO MAN is justified before God by the law, the Bible says so.
Sorry, no Pope, no Man, is not going to tell me how to believe, what to believe, how to worship God.
My trust is only in God, Jesus Christ and his word, Sola Scripture.
Those who follow after some man will be seduced to worship the anti-christ, you can count on that.

Their reasoning, the Aikens, is really “ Come and let us compromise together “ .

Sola Papa ( the Pope, or future Pope ) might very well be the false prophet or the anti-Christ himself, I do not follow any man, or trust any man for my salvation.

Catholicism came out of a Roman pagan cult ( hence, ROMAN CATHOLICS ) worship before Christ in Roman, it’s when they adapted to Christianity that it became the Catholic religion that we know today.
