No-work Sundays good, not just for faithful
When I moved into my neighborhood 35 years ago, there was an (unwritten) understanding that Sunday was a family day - no major remodeling, no lawn mowing, etc.
In the last 10 years, Sunday has become just another day. In fact, yesterday (the 4th of July!) I had two or three neighbors cutting the lawn, trimming hedges ... all the time some of us were hosting picnics.

When I was a kid of the 1960s we had Blue Laws. No one worked Sundays except gas stations and small grocery stores.
