Sola Scriptura strikes again. Sad.

Wrong on so many levels I'm not sure where to begin. If you really, really think this is about sola scriptura you are so wrong.

It is about sin. Plain and simple. It is the same justification that the pedophiles in the RCC have used to "normalize" their behavior. And that also is sin and the RCC needs to do something about it.

So you see, in spite of having all that "tradition" and other non-Biblical teaching the RCC espouses, it didn't stop those priests now did it.

This man should be dealt with in accordance with the outline Paul noted in the NT. He needs to be given an opportunity to repent and be forgiven. If not, then he is out of fellowship with the body of Christ.

No telling what will be in there

An abomination which brings desolation time and time again.

As a fellow Catholic I ask you, how does this comment add to the discussion?

All of us believe scripture is holy. No one got transgender preachers from scripture. In Mosul Christians are being slaughtered by ISIL forces. They are Syriac Orthodox and Chaldean Catholic. We should pray for them.

In the Religion forum, on a thread titled Transgender priest to preach at National Cathedral, xzins wrote:

“All of us believe scripture is holy.”

Including The Rev. Dr. Cameron Partridge, the Episcopal chaplain at Boston University?

When the NATIONAL CATHEDRAL and Boston University (the university is nonsectarian, but is historically affiliated with the United Methodist Church) accept this, how is that NOT the mainstream of American Protestant thought?

Here on FR we are constantly taunted by the proddy sector on how wrong the Catholic Church is. I simply point out that the Proddy world is broad and inclusive of many anti-Christian elements. If that is wrong, I am open to being shown why. But frankly, quod erat demonstrandum appears to be the correct construction here.

As for:

I agree. And I do.

Nah, the Episcopalians, especially the further you go up the organization chart, are just making it up as they go along, and have been for a long time.

It was a reply to the poster who was attempting to disparage the belief in using the Bible, and the Bible only, only in our relationship with Christ. My point was that with all of the "tradition" that the RCC clings to it hasn't stopped sin from happening.

Ah, you don’t understand.

The First Amendment guarantees the freedom of expression, as silly, contemptuous, immoral or malevolent as it may be.

It is up to the people of good will to define these freedoms.

Hope you get through that Junior High episode intact. Maybe someday you will come to Our Lord in the Holy Mass. God willing.

Xzins clearly points out in his post that the beliefs of the transgender do not reflect his biblical beliefs. Is the transgender “mainstream” Protestantism? It depends on how you define “mainstream”. If the transgender is “mainstream”, then xzins is not, or vice versa.

I don't need the Mass. I placed my faith in Christ in the 5th grade and have been walking with Him ever since. It is my sincere hope that all who read this blog have done so as well.

Is the National Cathedral “mainstream”, is Boston University “mainstream”?

Xzins espouses a very Biblical and nearly Catholic worldview. Is he “mainstream”?

Is the Catholic Church, as represented in the recent letter from the Abp. of San Francisco to Nancy Pelosi “mainstream”?

I think not. But again, I am wide open to correction.

The United Methodist Church isn’t Bible-believing. They aren’t as far along as the PC-USA into heresy, just as the PC-USA isn’t as far along as the Episcopal Church, but they’ve already compromised in a lot of ways.

Isn’t the National Cathedral the main Episcopal church in America? Sadly, this isn’t surprising, then.

I will always take an opportunity to defend the Bible.
