San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone has responded that, despite criticism from political leaders in his home state, he will attend the March for Marriage this week, because his position requires him to act as a defender of the Catholic faith.
In a letter released today, Cordileone wrote that he is required as a bishop, to proclaim the truththe whole truthabout the human person and Gods will for our flourishing ... especially the truth about marriage as the conjugal union of husband and wife, Cordileone wrote. That is what I will be doing on June 19th.
Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone Political figures from Nancy Pelosi to San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee to California Lt. Governor Gavin Newsom had written to Cordileone, asking him not to take part in the second annual march in Washington, D.C., on Thursday.
Pelosi, who supports marriage redefinition, called the march venom masquerading as virtue.
"We share our love of the Catholic faith and our city of San Francisco," she wrote to her archbishop. But she said some of the event's participants show hate and disdain for homosexuals.
Bill Donohue of the Catholic League accused Pelosi of selective outrage. When gays go naked in the streets of San Francisco, and mock Catholicism in patently obscene ways, Pelosi is never offended. What offends her is her archbishop's public defense of the Church's teachings on marriage, he said.

Glad the guy told her no but he is avoiding his faith in avoiding excoming her. And it is a poor example to christians of all stripes.
Good comparisons.

I was thinking more along the lines of an exorcism.
Or His Holiness the Archbishop could consecrate a Titleist driver, and deal with the problem ala Silent Bob...

They have a great exorcism team down there. One of the members has been up to our diocese trying to help us get one established.

Donohue needs to call for Pelosi’s ex-communication if she stands with the filth at the Folsom Street Fair then.
And here’s a link to what Pelosi endorses— http://www.zombietime.com/folsom_sf_2007_part_1/index.php
AB should reply:
Dear Nancy,
I have a better idea.
Ill go ahead and participate in the March for Marriage.
But, how about you quit calling yourself Catholic since you dont seem to believe or practice any of the teachings of the Catholic Church.
“But she said some of the event’s participants show hate and disdain for homosexuals.”
So Botox Queen, when will you be making note of some of the “hate and disdain” for Christians shown at the Folsom Street Fair?
***** CRICKETS ******
Good for Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone! The Catholic Church needs more like him.
Good for the Archbishop
Ephesians 6: 10-18
Good for Arhbishop ‘Lionheart’!
Next, like a good shepherd toss ravening wolves like Nanzi out on their ears.
Archbishop Cordileone is the archbishop of Oakland.
It is the bishop of San Francisco who has the jursidiction to excommunicate Pelosi.
Those of us who are familiar with Archbishop Cordileone are aware that he is truly “lion-hearted”. To know him is to respect him and to depend on him.
Such a letter to Pelosi from the Archbishop would be along the lines of Pope Francis’s recent statement to the effect that half-hearted Catholics aren’t Catholics at all. Nancy has never been a Catholic in the sense of a true believer in the faith; it’s been a political prop to her, and for her use when she deems it appropriate.
If not excommunicated, she should be denied the sacraments. Including “Extreme Unction” or whatever they now call it Last Rites. At 70+ that could possibly, by some outside chance, cause her some concern.
Pelosi is dancing on the Trapdoor of HELL!! Good for the Archbishop!! he is a good man.
No, he is not. Cordileone is the Archbishop of the San Francisco Archdiocese. He was promoted from Oakland to San Francisco in 2012. Bishop Michael Barber is now the Bishop of Oakland. Hence, Cordileone is indeed Pelosi's Archbishop.
As you know, I am not a catholic, but I agree. It is good to see someone stand up for what is right. It does not happen often enough these days.
>> an exorcism.
At first I laughed, then I thought you were seriously correct.
