t is wonderful to read the account of Kirsten Powers' conversion from atheism to Christianity. But that doesn't make her into a Bible scholar or theologian, and Powers has made some grave errors in her recent article on "Christianity's new look on gays."
She begins by asking the question, "Could there be a future where most American Christians support same-sex relationships?"
The obvious answer is: "Only if these Christians renounce the Word of God and the God of the Word."
But that is not how she answers her question. Instead, she writes: "If so, it will be due to the emergence of conservative Christians who say orthodox believers can support life-long, monogamous gay relationships without undermining their commitment to biblical authority."
This is a truly unfortunate statement, as riddled with self-contradictions as it with theological fallacies.
In short, the only way a professing Christian "can support life-long, monogamous gay relationships" is by ceasing to be a conservative Christian, ceasing to be an orthodox believer, and completely undermining their commitment to biblical authority.

In general women don’t see that the gay movement is all about men neglecting their duty to care for women and provide satisfaction for them. Now we have a whole generation of young women who will have to.go thru years of unhappiness before they will understand this concept. Tragic.

If you truly are a believer In Jesus Christ; born of the Spirit of God, then you should very well care what God thinks of homosexuality.

In addition, the homo agenda is far more destructive to society than simply two guys up eachother’s @$$ behind closed doors. They target little boys in schools, organizations like the Boy Scouts, and in places of worship.

Men eagerly went along with the feminists on promiscuity and abortion because it meant they could sleep around without consequences. There is plenty of blame to go around for both sexes.
How about forgivable? The difference between the condemned in the Old Covenant, and the redeemed in the New Covenant, is the Blood of Jesus which is the only thing that makes us pure and worthy - despite our continuing sinful natures. Go through a whole day without a sinful thought/act and you can sit in judgement. Until then all you can do is resist your own temptations and try to follow the two great commandments.
If she believed the bible was the word of God she would not continue to belong to political party that hates God and believes in baby murdering and queer “marriage”. She’s a hypocrite and nothing else.

Personally I believe the gospel has been perverted so many years by both conservatives and liberals that it has became nothing more than a game.

According to many preachers you simply can not be a human being with out fear of being sent to hell, and they will twist the scripture around to prove it.
Smoking, drinking wine, plus a hundred other things that they put in the same category with homosexuality.
On one side of the argument is the (if it feels good do it) as long as you believe in Christ you will be saved.
On the other side you have to be much cleaner than Jesus was to even stand a chance of reaching the kingdom of God, Jesus would not be seen as a Christian.
Homosexuality is an abomination, we can not judge them to hell, only God can do that, i also can not pretend to love them because i don`t, and actually i would be seen as pretty liberal in biblical matters.
Open homosexualism is open anti God, that is the object, A Christian could not admit to being gay even if they were which i doubt. but a God hater could say anything in order to slap God in the face as if that were possible.
The point i am trying to make ( and doing a pretty sorry job of) is that when one side goes a step up, the other side will go a step down.
People will take one side or the other instead of reading the scripture for them selves to see what it really says and what it don`t say.
So it is not a matter of conservative or liberal as they both lie about scripture, they just go in the opposite directions..

I surmise that what the poster was saying was that if you "really couldn't care less” “what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own homes" then it means you could care less about some terrorist attacks being planned behind closed doors. But to be analogous then it must be shown that what is being done behind closed doors in the case of sodomites also negatively affects the public.

If taking part in another consensual act, say the Lord's supper, resulted in all this, with overall a greatly increased incidence of infectious diseases and premature death, and being primarily responsible for the death of over half a million Americans - despite 30 years of trying to promote a "safe" way to engage in it - at the least i do not think it would be advocated and encouraged, and those who did not agree with it shouted down as "racist" and Christianophobic, and depriving Christians of their rights by outlawing it, which they should if this relation was so manifestly evident.
Yet homosexuality is wrong for deeper reasons than the typical deleterious physical ones, but extends into the uniquely compatible and complimentary, and only joined them in marriage, which Jesus Himself specified. (Gn. 2:18-24; Mt. 19:4-6) Homosexual unions are thus only condemned by God in the Scriptures, by design and decree, in principle and in precept.
And attempts to force homosexual relations into passages it does not belong extends even to pro homosexual apologetics on the Bible, the specious nature of which this reveals, and i find the manipulation of the Bible by them to be more serious than even homosexuality.
However, some of the first Christians were likely former homosexuals, (1Cor. 6:9-11) and there is room at the cross for all who want the Lord Jesus over sin, and believe upon Him to save them who died for them, and rose again. And who thus are baptized and follow Him, to the glory of God.
Her column certainly didn’t surprise me. She was and is a progressive with all of the confused thoughts that accompany that philosophy. She’s also a former atheist, of course; but very notably, she “converted” to Protestantism. For anyone (other than committed Protestants) to be surprised that she would continue along her same, confused path that she followed as an atheist, lives in a liberal dreamworld.
But lest my Protestant friends feel slighted by this observation, I must assure them that I would have expected almost the same column from her if she opted instead to become a Neo-Catholic. There is virtually no air between the Vatican II Neo-Catholics (being blindly led by the progressive media without so much as a word of objection from our Modernist bishops) and the Protestants. If one fails to recognize that the Modernist Catholic bishops of the Neo-Catholic Church will not ultimately embrace some version of homosexual unions, much like the protestants are now doing, they are seriously not following what is going on in the Church today.
However, for those new on the Catholic scene, be assured that the one true Catholic Church that holds fast to the traditional teachings of that Church without deviation, will not change, and will never embrace any form of sinful behavior such as homosexuality. Never! And as for Kirsten Powers, who knows; since this young woman appears to be slowly waking up to the truth, maybe one day she’ll pick up a copy of the Remnant Newspaper, the Catholic Family News or almost any book of the late, great Michael Davies, and actually wake up completely. I pray she does.
