There are many passages in Scripture where believers prostrate themselves before God. We also know about the Great Genuflect in the future. Our Lord Christ Jesus looked upwards to heaven when He prayed to the Father.
I see nothing wrong in that action while worshiping or in prayer to God.
We are a body. A body of Christ. We work together with Him as the head of the body. We are to obey His Sovereign Volition. If some render complete obedience to Him directly, what is that to others? If the Holy Spirit so moves them to render such obedience and manifest it publicly, it would far worse to deny the Holy Spirit.
I guess the real lack of respect is when somebody is roaming about, to and fro in the Mass with a camera and the heart of a lion searching for somebody they can attack manifesting the heart of an Adversary, rather than rejoicing and manifesting an identification with the body.
If public manifestation of our identification with Christ were not proper, then baptism by water wouldn’t be a Sacrament.
Slain in the spirit?
