Well, living among and worshiping with Catholics every day, I find that most are confident that God’s promise to them will be fulfilled.

Can't disagree with this, but WHY will the promise by fulfilled?

Because they believe in God and in Jesus Christ His only Son and the Holy Spirit and live their lives in accordance with Christ’s commands.
