Every post that you have ever replied to from me has been a putdown of the Catholic Church. I have no intention of going back and listing all the posts. It is all of them. Every last one of them. You have never replied to any post concerning Catholicism in a positive manner. When you weigh in it is the same negative putdowns. It is as certain as the sun coming up in the morning.

... It is as certain as the sun coming up in the morning.

Actually, what is most certain is that the Roman Catholics on FreeRepublic will continue to complain and misrepresent when those of us (that hold the truth of Scripture over tradition) make a representation with which they do not agree. It is difficult to argue with close-minded individuals who have been indoctrinated all their lives. They will incessantly continue to post endless attempts to proselytize and make a knee-jerk reaction when they are called for it. They are not unlike the Muslims with their strict adherence to the teachings of their leaders, even when it requires them to depend on membership in their group for any hope.

The Roman Catholic organization cannot withstand a proper exegesis of Scripture, so it demands strict adherence to its' cathechismal teachings, which too often are at odds with God's Words. It doesn't matter that most of it made up to keep their people from knowing how easy it is to find salvation. They want to (like Peter) make the people follow after manmade traditions which defy the simplicity of the Gospel. They want to put their trust into their own hands (and the hands of theircult leaders) and take away the role of the Holy Spirit!

Romans 4: 13 It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. 14 For if those who depend on the law are heirs, faith means nothing and the promise is worthless, 15 because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.

16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all.

1 Timothy 4: 1 The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3 They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth. 4 For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, 5 because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.

6 If you point these things out to the brothers and sisters, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished on the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. 7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.

Now don’t go moving the goalposts here. That lacks integrity.

I see what’s going on.

You switched it from *putting down Catholics* to *putting down the Church*.

Not the same thing. Show me where I put down Catholics, as in the individuals, as you initially accused me of doing.

It seems you went to the store for apples; and returned with oranges.

Never?

It's that damned Luther's fault.

He started this mess by putting down the church 95 times.

(Or so I've heard...)

I am presently working with a group of people doing a parish census for our pastor. We go door-to-door and as one might imagine, we have some very interesting experiences.

We have found that—as general rule—the responses we get when making contacts at the doors are almost always predictable:
. Catholics are happy to see us and like the chance to talk to us about things going on in the parish
. very few are atheists, but they seem to like telling us so
. Mormons are polite, but distant
, LDS ers can be discourteous
. Muslims prefer not to talk to us, even though they don’t seem to mind saying they are Muslim
. the “unchurched” are almost always “too busy” to talk to us
. Baptists are almost always polite and pleasant
. those who were baptized in the Catholic Church, but have left the Catholic Church are almost always the most rude and unpleasant

What we have experienced is just a matter of fact.
