“all very in view of the public eye and yet the Catholic church does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to discipline them”

What does any of the 50,000 or so protestant “churches” do to discipline anyone that votes for Obama? But what is there to discipline when you have no sacraments, no rules, no doctrine, no structure. 50,000 or so “authority” figures, all saying what they are doing is right.
From your homosexual “marriage” to openly homosexual pastors “marrying” their boyfriend, to women pastors, to taking no stance on abortion. All this immoral garbage is found in protestant faiths, because there is no authority to tell anyone what’s right or wrong.

Not a problem in the churches I've attended. I don't know a soul who admitted to it. But we did have a guy with a "coexist" bumper sticker. He started attending that church about the time I left, so I don't know what happened to him.

But I have been eye witness to various acts of church discipline. Of all the groups I have any contact with, the Reformed seemed to take it most seriously. Mostly on issues of sexual misconduct. I've seen an elder go down for adultery. I've seen a pastor go down for lying. It was sad too. So many people invest so much in human institutions, human figures. The only one who will never disappoint is God.

The rest of your post is just more rambling from a basis of incomplete information. We have authority, we have Scripture, we have the ordinances (you call them sacraments), and we have God's repeated and bountiful blessing. I'm not trying to be mean. It is just so sad to see the misconceptions people develop because they had a bad personal experience. I had so many wonderful, good people to model my faith by. After hearing some of your stories, I feel like I was even more blessed that I originally thought.

So, it's up to 50,000 now? Where did you pull that stat from, as if anyone has to ask?

Can you guys make up your minds?

How about a source for it?
