Watch out....someone will be along shortly to tell you these aren’t “real lies” and it’s okay because they’re just sparing people’s feelings. I find it despicable that they try to justify lying not only in God’s house but during Mass!

Because they believe in God and in Jesus Christ His only Son and the Holy Spirit and live their lives in accordance with Christ’s commands.

1 John 3:22
And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

I'll follow what the Book says; you can follow what your church teaches; and we'll BOTH be happy.

If you can show that I WON'T be happy on Judgement Day; please, Please, PLEASE!!!; show me!

They are not requirements. No one has to pray to Mary. No one has to pray the rosary. No one has to venerate saints.

Thanks for being honest!

What the Church teaches is what one must do to be in full communion with the Church and participate in all the Sacraments Jesus gave for our sanctification.

Then these ARE requirements.

Yes, through the Church. Protestants would have no Christianity were it not for the Church.

GOD has reserved 7,000 that have NOT bowed the knee to Baal.

At the council of Jerusalem, it was decided that circumcision of Gentiles was not necessary before becoming a Christian.

A letter was then sent out saying that circumcision was not necessary for those Gentiles coming into the Church. The letter read.....

Acts 15:`The brothers, both the apostles and the elders, to the believers of Gentile origin in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia, greetings. [R] [+]
24 Since we have heard that certain persons who have gone out from us, though with no instructions from us, have said things to disturb you and have unsettled your minds, [R] [+]
25 we have decided unanimously to choose representatives and send them to you, along with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, [R] [+]
26 who have risked their lives for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ. [R] [+]
27 We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who themselves will tell you the same things by word of mouth. [R] [+]
28 For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to impose on you no further burden than these essentials: [R] [+]
29 that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what is strangled and from fornication. If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well. Farewell.’

Already within the first generation after the life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus, we have the leaders of the Church gathering to decide, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, what is required of those coming into the Church. That authority is still in effect today.

And, exactly what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

*****If you can show that I WON’T be happy on Judgement Day; please, Please, PLEASE!!!; show me!*****

Judgement of you belongs not to me or to you but to Jesus, to whom God has given judgement of all men.

Doesn’t sinning by lying preclude a Catholic from taking communion?

LOL? It’s a joke to lie to others? Really?

Unbelievable.

What part of examining yourself to make sure you are partaking of communion in a worthy manner escapes Catholics that they make so light of lying just before taking communion?

Exactly my thoughts. I brought up the lying during Mass in my post #157 and I was told the following by dsc in post #162:

"Your judgment is faulty. These “lies” are in the category of those which spare someone’s feelings or allow one to refrain from creating a disturbance, while remaining true to a properly formed conscience."

Or would you bluntly tell your sick, elderly mother just how awful she looked?

I’m sorry if these vital—if subtle—distinctions are not immediately apparent to you, but your half-cocked calumny is over the top.

My logic is "faulty"???? "Vital distinctions? Some lies are ok? Especially in church??? I can't believe that any Catholics would justify it occurring in the middle of sacred Mass.

Wow. Just--wow. If your mother is a believer, Christ lives in her--Are you saying that is not beautiful?

If she is not a believer, then Christ thought she was beautiful enough to die for her--after being flogged and whipped and crucified. Who are you to say differently?

But if you insist on applying the World's impersonal and objectifying standard of "beauty" on your own mother, then I can't dissuade you from lying to her.

That authority is still in effect today.

Then this LIST is as well:

For it has seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to impose on you no further burden than these essentials:

that you abstain from what has been sacrificed to idols and from blood and from what is strangled and from fornication.

Huston; we have a problem.
