Gene Robinson recently wrote that conservative Christians were behind the times on gay marriage. With great condescension, he said that their world was changing fast and they felt disoriented and confused.
Well, maybe we are old-fashioned, Gene, but at least we treat marriage with more reverence than you do. A truly God-centered marriage will never go out of style.

I guess the saying is true:
“Nobody loves you when you are old and gay.”
To: Gamecock
HAHAHAHA, ya can’t make this stuff up. Ok, so now he wants to marry a goat? Or a 10-year-old?

Johnny is recently "divorced" from its "husband," who got into something in Sochi that was detrimental to the "union."

35 I thought the Episcopal Church refused to recognize divorce... At least a good friend, a life-long Episcopalian, was not allowed to marry in the Episcopal Church, in the 21st century, because one of the parties was divorced... and I thought this odd, considering the Founding Father of the Church of England... and I'm an Episcopalian. I'm sure it's just me. I'm confused. I'm sure that if if understood I would understand...or something like that... Not sure how to take your post, so I'll choose black & white. Your close friend may well have been tyring to marry in 1 of the "continuing Anglican churches" which broke away from ECUSA/TEC. Some of them are very orthodox and will not marry a divorced person.

That’s a great story. Are you still attending that non-denominational church?

“In the past decade, the Episcopal Church followed the decline in other mainline Protestant denominations and lost about 10 percent of its members.”
Boy, the embracing of theological liberalism, abortions, priestesses and homosexual behavior has sure worked out well for them hasn’t it?/sarc
To: Gamecock
IIRC, at one time being divorced was a disqualification from being an Episcopal bishop.
But then this guy was divorced before. From his real wife.

I haven’t been able to keep all the factions straight. It’s a very conservative congregation all right.

Regress would be a better term. A regress towards paganism.

I wonder how they will divide their joint property? One gets the Preparation H, the other gets the Lysol . . .

"A continuing Anglican" church refusing to marry a divorced person is an oxymoron, given how Anglicanism came into existence. They should trade places with the "Catholic" congregations promoting abortion and gay marriage.

Robinson is a heretic. I heard a rumor in the old days, heretics were warm for the rest of their lives...
