Predestination AND Free Will
Men seem to want to choose one or the other...
I'll throw this into the mix.
I don't believe in total predestination, neither do I believe that such a thing as *free will* exists either.
It is God's will that all men believe and come to repentance. Scripture says it in so many words.
What I think is that men are offered is a choice. God draws and enlightens men, opens their eyes to see their need and then leaves it to them.
I think it's a matter of God clearing the fog at least once in every person's life and giving him a choice.
So the work is God's in drawing, convicting of sin, righteousness and judgment, saving, sealing, sanctifying, etc.
Sorry if this is not very coherent. Been a long weekend and it's morning.
I'm be guessin'!!
It's THURSDAY morning!!
Some of us take DOZENS of clarifying experiences!
This sermon by Charles Spurgeon is the best explanation of free will v. predestination.

While many FR Calvinists claim double predestination is Biblical, Charles Spurgeon obviously does not. Given that Spurgeon is a Calvinist icon, most FR Calvinists don’t seem to mention him much.
It should be noted that the British Calvinists are far different than the Dutch Calvinists in a number of ways.
