There is an official curriculum: CCD (Catholic Christian Doctrine) which pretty much drives all theology studies.
Catholics DO DO Bible studies. It's how I roll. I attend every Monday night, and if I wanted I could attend most nights of the week. LOL Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus has on-line courses...
