Whereas that style of debate is expected in News/Bloggers/Chat - on the Religion Forum, ad hominems are not tolerable since they often incite flame wars due to the sensitive nature of the subject matter.

...I get it...so people making snide comments about one’s religion are safe on this forum, but those who attempt to defend against that snark are singled out as ‘inciters of flame wars’...I get it, Mr. Moderator...

On the Religion Forum, no debate at all is allowed on threads labeled "prayer" or "devotional."

RF threads labeled "caucus" are closed to any Freeper who is not a member of the caucus. For instance, non-Catholics may not post on RF threads labeled "Catholic Caucus." But neither the article nor reply posts on a caucus thread may speak of the beliefs of non-members.

No antagonism is allowed on RF threads labeled "ecumenical."

All other RF threads are "open" by default meaning posters may argue for or against deities, religious authorities, beliefs, religious groups, etc. Posters are often contentious but they must not "make it personal" either by mind reading, attributing motive or focusing on another Freeper, personally (ad hominems.)
