Erin Go Bye: Two Beer Makers Exit St. Patrick's Parades

The makers of Sam Adams and Heineken beer say they are withdrawing their sponsorship of St. Patrick's Day parades because organizers exclude gay groups.

Boston Beer Co., Sam Adam's brewer, said in a statement Friday that it is disappointed that an agreement couldn't be reached between the gay rights advocacy group MassEquality and Boston parade organizers that would have allowed gay veterans to march.

Meanwhile, Heineken USA said it was withdrawing from the New York City parade, and told CNBC on Friday: "We believe in equality for all. We are no longer a sponsor of Monday's parade."

The decisions came a day after a bar in Boston's South End said it would no longer serve Sam Adams beer because of the brewer's affiliation with the parade, which is scheduled for Sunday.

Start a rumor that he’s a Koch brother and then the liberals will boycott them too. They’re usually not bright and will take it at face value.

Screw Sam Adams and screw Jim Koch.

Might want to rephrase that...

Unless you're a woman.

Looks good. We need replacement brands for the ones recently rendered repulsive.

Just an observation: if gays are wanting to be accepted and liked by everyone they sure are going about it the wrong way. As a result of the formation of the Gaystapo under President Gaywad’s watch they are probably one of the most hated groups by the overall public now excluding fawning celebrities with gay children who are married to rockstars and the millenials that were indoctrinated to like and become them by our school systems.

I agree friend. I think some sort of advertising regulations started prohibiting them from selling it that way so that's why I said it that way.

Lots of examples of Guiness ads like this.

You don’t understand the mentality of modern day corporate executives. To the extent that they have any principals at all, they have liberal principles. They are liberal when it comes to everything but their own money, and even then, they sometimes put PC before profits.

The overriding instinct they have on any controversial subject is that they just want it to go away. They think that caving into to the left will make that happen. These are the kinds of people that the GOP draws it’s leaders from.

St. Patrick was a Catholic saint, was he not?

Although the Catholics may have declared him a saint, Patrick was with the Celtic Church, which at the time was not under the authority of Rome.

I was working for a US company in Northern Ireland a few years ago and I could look out my office window at trains going by. On occasion I would look out and see tank cars of Guiness coming up from Dublin, no doubt to be bottled or kegged in the north. Mouth watering...!

Doggerel: Did you hear about Foley, the Irish queer?
Reached for a woman instead of a beer.

It’s a Supreme Court decision: private groups can ban who they want. Or else:

—Westboro Baptist demands to march in Gay Pride parade
—KKK demands to march in NAACP ML King Day parade
—NAMBLA demands to march in little league parade

Yuengling for those who may not know is actually America’s oldest operating brewery in the USA located in Pennsylvania. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuengling True nectar and delicious and I’d think somewhat reasonable in price.
