If Someone can convince you (or you do it yourself), that the Bible is in error (the basis for ALL cults); then you, as a rational person, do not have to follow what it teaches.

That is the point of the historical evidence -- you can't prove it is in error without comparable evidence. There would need to be a preponderance of evidence from the same time period that it was all a sham. All the evidence that actually exists shows that while the authorities of the period may not have believed it, they could not refute any of it. The few and feeble attempts made to disprove the gospels are so laughable that they have the opposite of their intended effect.

No such evidence exists.
