It isn’t your position that, if I ask my mother (who has died) to pray for me, I’m worshiping her?

I don't think any 'position' that I've stated in this thread mentions whom you worship at all.

But then; my memory is a bit weak these days; so, if you'd be so kind to point out exactly what I HAVE said; I, among others no doubt; would be ever so appreciative of your kindness.

It may not have been you.

I have been told, in no uncertain terms, that if I “pray to” anyone but Jesus, I am idolater.

Pointing out that the word “pray” is used analogically has proven fruitless. These people insist that there’s only one, univocal meaning to the word “pray”—adoration, worship. In the next breath, of course, they will ask for “prayers” for a sick relative. “I have a sick brother. Everybody please worship Jesus.”
